While replacing the drivers side turn signal light assembly in the hood I thought I could hear a grunting noise comming from the car. I had the ignition switch on so I could run the turn signal to see if it was working. I would turn off the switch and the noise would stop. Turn it on and it would start again kinda intermittently. I found out the headlight door motor was the cause of the noise. I turned on the lights and the doors opened and the noise started again. I turned off the lights the doors closed and the noise was back. I disconnected the wires and it stopped. I did the relay fix from a thread from the old site months ago but I never noticed the motor trying to run in both modes. Any ideas what is causing this?

The limit switches inside the motor are not opening when the motor gets to the end of its travel.  There's always power in one of the wires to the motor when the ignition switch is on.  The limit switches inside the gear portion of the motor shut it off.
