Would you consider Hot August Nights in Reno to be one of the more famous shows?

If not what? I don't mean Mopar only shows, I'm talking about general muscle car shows. Which would you consider to be the most famous in the states?

Well it's sure big out here in the western states. I been there a few times and thought it was awfully HOT! and crowded im talkin like appox 112 on the side walk in Reno proper. I'm not a big fan of Reno I been there many many times over the years and it's a hick town with some casinos to my way of thinking... Great if your into collecting Hummels,.. lots of thugs go there for H.A.N.s I remember watching the local P.D. throwing the druken scumbags wholesale into the back of lined up paddy wagons from my 8th story hotel room,.. I wouldn't even go out till eveining and the sun had dipped below the buildings and it was still 100 degrees,.. then walking around the thugs were out in clots drinking on the sidewalk and acting obnoxious... lots of rap Musci... anyhow... in reno the cars are static meaning their parked in corralls and in lots reserved specificly, hard to get in without reservations made at least a year in advance,..
Here's the deal if you go, the next town on the other side of the highway heading Nor/East & not even three minutes away is Sparks, there in the eveining when it's much cooler is where it's fun cause everyone just cruises around the small town of probably 10 square blocks, while on the sidewalk everyone brings out their lawn chairs and brewskies and watches, few burnouts but alot of sixites style cruisin....
I'd drive my ride there and sleep in the car in the Sparks area, i wouldn't leave my ride parked unattended... but for me reno's only a 3-4
hour drive. I'd be curious if you try to get reservations how that goes...

The Woodward Avenue cruise in Detroit ranks up there as does the Pismo Beach spring show too.

I've been entertaining the idea of going to Hot August Nights this year, just 'cause I've never been & it usually sounds cool. If it's a big drunk-fest though, I may just bag that idea. If I was 20 years younger, it would be fun, not so much these days.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Hmm. Sounds like a hooligan festival to me. Not really a place I'd like to leave my favorite car alone for very long.

I cant speak for Reno, but as a native Detroiter, the Wooward cruise is unreal. Cars start showing up 3 weeks in advance, up and down Woodward Ave. The week before the cruise, people come out with their lawn chairs each evening and line the street for miles. On Saturday there will be btwn 30 to 40 thousand cars from all over the country and world. It is an event. one million people are out there, families, young adults, old adults, everyone is just having fun.  if you love cars, you must experience this .
