It's nice that they have a guard cat to keep the mice away, too.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Thanks. Yes it is very encouraging. I finally feel like I'm getting closer to the downhill side of all this. I wish I had more money right now but they pulled the plug in the OT at work again so I'm running on empty. Hopefully I'll be able to get that rebuilt 383 I was talking about recently. The rebuilder has it in storage and told me he would give me the first shot at it when he gets his new shop and starts moving stuff again. It would cost less than rebuilding my original 383.

First of all, I love those black 2nd gen Chargers! They look so wicked :yesnod:
Congrats on the progress, Bull!

About the engine rebuild, are you talking about the Portland Engine Rebuilders?

Not sure yet. I think I'm going to run it for a while without one and see what I think. I've seen a few lately without them and they look pretty good. I know it's an illusion but the straight black Chargers don't seem to look as long as the other colors.

Right now I'm thinking 275/60-15s on the back and 255/50-15s on the front. I bought the front ones already used from a guy here in Oregon.

I'm not as pissed as one might think. :icon_smile_big: I know this is going to be a high maintenance deal compared to the original green but like I've said in the past, if I painted it green I'd still want a black Charger. As far as the Kent show. I'm really hoping to drive up there in '09 because I doubt the money will be there to finish it by this summer.

Boy, you people have good memories. I can't remember last Tuesday. Anyway, PER was the original plan but then I heard about this other guy from my brother. He quoted me about the same price as PER quoted me to rebuild mine but then he told me he had a 383 that was for another customer who can't pay his bill. It's all ready to go and it's $700 less. He's got it in storage until he finds another shop so I've got a little time to rebuild the money coffers.

Looks fantastic!!

What are you doing for taillights?

I'm not entirely sure yet, Mark. My housings aren't in horrible shape so I'm going to take them to a guy to look at and get an estimate for re-plating. If it's too high I'll probably end up with a new set from PG Classic or B/E&A (I can't decide if I care about part numbers or not).

If I do a Bumble Bee stripe I'll most likely go with silver. I might consider black too for more of a subtle look. :shruggy:

Surprise!! Now I have to follow all your directions to restore the heater box, wiper arms, grille, etc. (is it spelled grille or grill?)

And thanks to everyone else who responded. Don't want anyone getting left out. :2thumbs:

holy crap, I had no Idea your car was so far along Bull. From the way youve talked about it I thought it was still in the dissassembly stages.

Excellent decision! I'm doing my '69 silver with a black stripe. If I were to get another 2nd Gen., I'd do black with a silver stripe :drool5:
