Tommy, to make that cam work well in a heavy car with 383 cubes you will want a 3500 stall and 3.91 gears. If you want to keep your 3.23's then i would suggest you look at another cam.  :Twocents:

A nice "off the shelf" cam for your combo would be an Engle 2356H (k56 grind) or the Lunati voo-doo pn 60302.

Either one will run great with a mild (2400-2600) stall and 3.23's. The rest of your build is well matched to these cams as well.  :2thumbs:

The MP 284 is too much cam for your build....240* duration@.050 will kill any bottom end power you would have and move the powerband out of the street-friendly range.  :Twocents:

Tommy, if you want to use the stock converter the VooDoo stick would be my first choice....power will come in a little sooner.  ;)

Nuthin wrong with being a plumber....excellent blue collar trade.  :2thumbs:

Heck, i just put the wet stuff on the red stuff....that takes even less skill (a lot less) than plumbing

The Engle is a better cam, hands down. With a 2500 stall the k56 would work great. The Comp xe series cams are chevy profiles while the engle cams are designed for mopars. You get superior valve action with an Engle or VooDoo cam vs the Comp xe profiles. The Comp XEHL (high lift) cams are ground for Mopar engines but the smallest grind (xe275hl) would be too large for your combo, inmho.
