... or BIN for $350 when I can buy brand new ones from B/E&A for $245 or from PG Classic for $225? :shruggy: :image_294343:

No offense to you, charger-jeff, if you're a member here but it hardly seems worth the effort to restore them if you're in it for more than the new ones cost. And $100 just for the paint? Come on now... :eyes:

Not so far. This is his second go-round with these parts. Last time the bidding got up to $232 and he wouldn't sell. :image_294343:

So really, have you priced rechroming these things yet? Not cheap. As with anything else, if the price is too high it won't sell and the seller will either lower the price or take the items off the market. If I had say $500 into something there's no way I'd sell it at half just because someone could get a better deal elsewhere. Let them take the better deal and I'll keep my parts. That's what you do when you aren't selling because you're broke. I know someone who finally coughed up the asking price for a $$$ Hemi muffler that had made the rounds for almost three years. All you need is the right buyer at the right time and you can sell nearly anything.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I'm actually going out to do that very thing today. I got a rough quote on the phone and it sounded pretty cheap but we'll see what they say when they see the parts.

And I'm not talking about selling I'm talking about buying. Of course you're not going to sell something for half of what you have into it just because someone could get a better deal elsewhere. That's not my point. My point is it's just not going to sell for that so the seller is probably screwed unless he finds someone who's uninformed. Why would anyone pay more for an old part if they can get a new part that fits right for less? :shruggy: I wouldn't be surprised if this guy had these redone before PG Classic and B/E&A made theirs and he doesn't really like them so he's trying to sell them for enough money to buy a new set.

I am trying to contact Charger-Jeff, there was a Charger-Jeff here in the Seattle area, then he moved
to Florida because he got shut down for selling to many cars a year on ebay. I don't think they are
the same guy, but the  Charger-Jeff I know, is a 68 69 Charger guy for sure, but makes most of
his money selling anything mopar...............

I didn't get out there until today but I got a quote on re-plating my housings and bezels. The bezels are pretty much a wash compared to new ones. I was quoted $55-$65 each on those, which at the high end of $260 for the set is a little more than the new ones (unless you count shipping) and less than this guy ultimately wants for his restored ones. That's minus paint of course but I bet I could do it for way less than the $100 charger-jeff says he paid. The housings are the better deal. I was quoted $100-$150 each on those so long as there isn't any drilling and filling involved (charger-jeff said he had to drill and fill his bezels), and the guy said looking at mine that there wouldn't be. So I'll probably do pretty much what I expected I would do, replate my housings and buy the bezels from PG or B/E&A. I already have new gaskets and backup light lenses and my original red lenses are good so there you go. Roughly $550-$600 for everything.

Ebay has a limit on how many cars you can sell? :ahum: Or do you mean he was in trouble with the state...taxes & such.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

BTW, charger-jeff screwed up on the paint job. The inner portion of each bezel is supposed to show a thin strip of chrome on the inside of that inner ridge, closest to the lense.

Yes, in WA state there is a limit of cars you can sell, without a license, at least thats what he told me.

The white paint is really wrong as well, the out side polished leeding edge looks wrong also.
