can a car be driven a short distance with a blown head gasket?  need to know if a tow is needed or if it can be driven a couple miles

If the head gasket is blown such that coolant is getting in the oil, then you would destroy the engine in short order.

I would rather see you spend 100 dollars towing it, than 3000 dollars on a new rebuild. Correct?
