I'd like to see what some of you are running for raised white letter tires. There will probably be a lot of BFGT/As and that's ok but I'd just like to see how they look on different cars and also what size they are.

Eagle ST's.

Nope, they are 15x8.5 in the rear and 15x7 up front :2thumbs:

Hmm. Do you think 295s would work on an 8-inch rim?

If you look around (probably of BFG's website) the company will tell you recommended rim sizes for the tires.  If 295's won't work 275's might and I think they are actually the same width.....Lemme get back to you on that

chargerrt

295/50s can go on 8-10 inch wheels and have 11 inches of tread

275/60s can go on 7.5-9.5 inch wheels and also have 11 inches of tread

The 275 might be a more logical choice for the 8" wheels because the 295s might look a little like a bubble, but it might not look much different from mine    :Twocents:

The rear tires on the picture in my signature are 295/ 50/ 15's  on the car's factory 15x8" rims.   They fit and look good, but with the flares it has more room than most cars in the wheelwells.

You're right. The tread width is said to be the same: http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/specs/radial-t-a/12.html However, one other difference is the overall diameter. The 275/60s (being a 60-series instead of a 50-series) are bigger around by 1.3" so you'd almost think there would be as much or more of an issue with clearance. :shruggy:

Well, the rims were on the car when I got it, so I can't be 100 % positive.  Whenever I go home for a weekend (maybe sometime this month) I'll be happy to take one off, measure the backspacing, and PM you with the size  :yesnod:

I know, I saw that too. But when you call one of the stores that carry them they say they are on backorder and have been for a long time. The place I called said there were only three 295/50-15 tires in the nation at their stores which included America's Tire and Discount Tire at least.

4forty

wow, that sucks....I got mine about 2 years ago, great tire, I guess they are getting rare! probaly devoting factory space for 20"s & 22" gangsta dougnuts

bull

I just called BFG corporate to ask them what was up and they said the next scheduled production date on the 295/50-15s will be June 2008. So if and hopefully when they start making them again they'll have to fill all the backorders first and then possibly restock the shelves. Of course the guy on the phone couldn't tell me if they really are going to start making them again (he's just reading off a computer screen) so we'll have to wait until June to know for sure I guess.

On my Superbird clone I have 275/50/15 on the front and 295/50/15 on the rear. I even lowered the front of the car a bit looks mean. My 69 Charger R/T has 265/50/15 on the front and 295/50/15 on the rear no issues with it either. But they have discontiunued the 265 and 275 50 15s. Going with 245/60/15 front and 295/50/15 on the rear on my 2nd 69 Charger R/T. These are all mounted on speciality wheels 15X8 magnum 500's.

Ouch those two cars are SICK !!!!!!! For any one that didnt know the little tire spec. this is how it works!!!!! 295/50/15 first number is width in metric 295 Diveded by 25.4 you get 11.614173" inches, second number is side wall height so its 50% of your width = a 5.50" tall side wall and last one is inside tire dia.
