I'm all in favor of conceal carry, I want it myself, and big ups to this guy for being brave enough to do something (just like that ex-cop in that church that killed that guy) 

what I'm surprised we dont hear more of is this kind of thing gone wrong,  Like the robber having a buddy in the back of the store who shoots the good guy.  I wouldnt mind pulling a gun on a creep like that, but I would be scared he had a buddy.

that very incident happen near me, everybody knew that this guy that ran the BP ALWAYS had guns with him, some kids from the big city came down and robbed him, he shot one of them, but his buddy standing outside came in from behind and killed the store guy.

They recentrly passed the conceal carry law in Kansas here.  Shortly there after a lot of business's put up the standard red circle with the slash thru the gun NO GUNS signs on their doors. I just laughed and thought this was stupid. A criminal isnt gonna care about that sign and bring his gun in anyways and law following conceal/carry permit people wont bring their guns in so we are just how it was before the law went into effect. I just shake my head. But the next time some crazy person goes off in a mall and shoots 20 people we'll get to watch the news on tv hearing about how tragic this was. No one will ask why a responsible conceal/carry person couldnt have put a stop to it before it got out of hand.

actually, when many businesses put up the red circle with the slash across a gun as a way of saying no firearms allowed, that is NOT A LEGAL SIGN. It has to be one specific sign, ironically number 30.06. The wording has to be exactly what they say, otherwise it is not illegal for someone with a permit to carry into that location. However, if you are in a business with your concealed weapon and somebody sees it, they can ask you to leave, and if you refuse then you will be booked for trespassing. Don't ask. I know a bank in Minnesota I went to had something on the door saying that "This bank bans bringing firearms or weapons into this location" I questioned the bank manager about it, right before I was getting ready to close my accounts there, and he said that it was more to try to thwart it, but he knew it wasn't legal signage. I told him I'm going to be closing my account with them because of it, since I do have a valid permit, and that I will go to another bank which doesn't have a problem with a person LICENSED to carry concealed actually using their license.

I will say this, to any of you looking into getting a concealed weapons permit, Look into it, but look good and hard, because once you get one, lots of things change. Laws do get tougher on you. It's a good thing to have, don't let me scare you off. But it does carry with it a huge responsibility. For instance, and this does change state to state, but in North Dakota, you are not to carry your concealed weapon into a public place. Most cops are ok with it, but the Sheriff in Fargo, ND will have you arrested if you are carrying concealed within the mall. And dont think about getting a beer with dinner at the local applebees. That's a road you really don't want to go down.

That's the trick my friend. Its so vague that depending on the officer things change. The city cops dont mind if you have a license and carry in the mall, but if they call the sheriff, your off to the klink. Somebody thought it was a good idea, but then again ND has a habit of keeping really stupid laws on the books, but just not enforcing them again. Similar to if there are 3 or more Indians on horseback and you and your family are in a covered wagon, its considered a war party and you can open fire. Yes its still on the books, but not enforceable. its also pretty damn stupid too.

I dont make the laws, I just have to deal with them.
