Charged

5 days for me and Im loving it.

Cold Turkey & Im using the patch only...but also the nicotine gum for those strong cravings, but I havent had to use the gum yet. I have noticed that Im eating everything in the house and sleeping like a damn Sloth. I smoked Doral/ Marlboro full flavor for 10 years at a pack and a half a day.

I work for the UPS air district world hub in Louisville and they give us a benifit called "Free & Clear" that counsels us and gives us things like the patch and gum for free. Pretty bad ass antismoking program.  :coolgleamA:

Good job fellas.

Since Labour Day for me - not a single one.

Dave22443

Congratulations!  I've been smoke free for a year now as well.  I smoked about a a pack a day for 27 years and finally gave it up for my kids.  I've been alchohol free for 18 years.  Only bad habit I have left is my @#$(*!*%$#  mouth   :D

Chewing tobacco free for a year and a couple of weeks. It's a wonder I still have a job and was not sentenced to prison. I could pick it back up today like I never quit. I miss nicotine... A LOT!!!!

Proof that it can be done! :icon_smile_big:

Does being "cigarette free" mean you quit, or just too broke to buy them all this time?  :D

Congrats to you either way, I know from watching friends & family try that it isn't easy.

Great job to all of you.   :2thumbs:  Thank you, thank you.  As most of you know I work on elevators.  I am amazed how many hours are wasted as I watch people come down on the elevator, go outside while other employees are still working and chat and puff away.  Sometimes I see them right back no more than 15 minutes later, and this goes on all day.  What a waste of working hours, not to mention health issues, and wearing my elevator out.  :-\
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Right now, it's a bit of both.  Won't have any money for 2 more weeks, either.

That's great guys, My problem with quiting is when someone starts irritating me then it's either smoke one or smack em. How did you guys handle it?

I've tried to quit several times but didn't make it.
Mabey when I wake up in the middle of the night looking for an inhailer and spend all day coughing I'll try a little harder.

Quit cold turkey in 2002....can't even stand the smell of them now.....good job for everyone!

For me, being only a year smoke free, I still enjoy the smell of them  :smoke:
However, I think if I actually tried to smoke one, I would  :puke:
There are still times even now that I would love to have one, but so far I've never given in to the urge.  It gets easier the more time passes.
