WOW! Nice find Bro. :2thumbs: I wonder if any of those cars survive somewhere today?

Did I "eye spy" a 70 Roadrunner in the pack? 4th back closeest to the infield?  No wingcars in the pic.....must be after the ban?

Maybe no wing cars because they were all up front and past before the picture was taken. :icon_smile_big:

First picture is from 1971.  NASCAR had a three year rule back then, so the last year you could run a 1969 model year vehicle would be 1971.  There are several 1969 Mercurys and even a 69 Chevelle in the picture.  The top Mopar boys are all in 1971 vehicles.  I don't see Richard Brook's 305 CID Daytona in the picture, so it probably isn't the 71 Daytona 500.

Thats when Nascar was awesome. What they got now I think sucks big time. I refuse to even watch a lap anymore.

Those are some really great pictures.  :popcrn:  :yesnod:  Makes one start to daydream about where all those cars ended up. :scratchchin:

Its interesting to look at all the pit row pictures and compare them to now with respect to the safety gear those guys wear. Its funny to think back to when I was a youngster in the 70s and never wore anything like seat belts/helmets/eye protection/etc. Riding in the back of pickup trucks, ahh the good old days. I am kinda surprised I survived.  :-\

Its a good thing I finally did start wearing that stuff. Rolled a car on black ice in college and dumped my bike last spring, both times walked away. Total body damage - 4 stitches (skid suit armor cut my leg) and some bruises (including ego).   :2thumbs:
