That last car you have marked as unknown looks like a '68 notch-back Mustang to me.  I know of a few rotting Mopars near me the guy won't come off of (fortunately, he'll probably be dead soon and his wife would love to see them go).  I'll have to see if I can sneak a few pictures and post up.

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

I have posted these before, but these were in the back near the barn of the house me and my girlfriend at the time
rented in Tenino, WA.  There were maybe 30, 35 Imperials, two mint ones in garage, was sort of cool,

Looks like its a 59 Imperial Custom and someone grabbed the killer grill that they had that year.

Personally,  I am getting sick of seeing all these cars piled up and rotting away. I don't know why this stuff gets posted all the time. Doesn't it make you guys sick as well?  There is nothing learned and nothing earned by bringing this up over and over like a bad dinner.  I would much rather see a long list of good bone yards from all over.  I don't mind seeing before and after shots of restored cars, but this makes me ill. It's kind of like taking pictures of the architecture of old broken down out houses.  We all know they exist. Why post pics. of the sick and dying??  :Twocents:

DB, I certainly was not looking to break your chops. I think it's great that you are willing to help others find parts. That's what we are doing here. Helping one another with our hobby. I commend you for this.  It's just that sometimes these pics. become that bloody accident on the highway that everyone just HAS to break their neck to see.  :rotz:

I guess I would like to see more positive posts. I love the, (I took it from this and made it this), pics.  Travis finds this stuff and does something with them. That last Charger was a real pile, but he cleaned up someones yard and will save some parts from it before it becomes a Tuna can or a toaster. Those are positive pics.  I like those...

We do need a good car show.  I HATE WINTER!!!   Who all is going to mopars at the strip??

Steve,  I wish so badly I could have been around in those days or even been older in the late 80'2 early 90's.  I guess one reason I like to look at the pics of cars in barns is that it gives me hope. It gives me hope that I can find more of these cars. So far I have been very dumb and sold all that I have found.  I do know of one more 66 HEMI charger that is complete that is a cars in yards type thing.  I hope that some day I can get it.  Sorry if I offended you in my prior posts

It's just as bad as the guy hording 12 or more cars saying he's going to restore them . You can't drive them all at one time . Must be for the bragging or flipping factor.
Lots of people talkin' , few of them know
Soul of a woman was created below

Steve P.

I don't have any trouble with flipping cars. NOT OVER!! But the guys selling parts and cars to keep the hobby going, no problem. Like I said, that mess Travis picked up will supply someone with parts they need. The car was too far gone to restore and otherwise would just sit and rot to the ground. That trashes up a home and starves someone else for parts. I buy and sell parts myself. Sometimes people have good stuff in their garages that they saved for one reason or another and then that person dies. (This is real common here in Florida). Next thing you know someone that doesn't have a clue is sending a hemi motor to the scrap yard.  I recently saw this twice at our local Pick an Pull. A man died and his daughter came down from somewhere up north to tie up lose ends. The 67 Imperial Crown with 34K miles went straight to the junk yard. I spoke to the guy that bought the motor and tranny for $150.00. Said they drove the car onto the scales while he was walking in. He followed the car to it's resting place and pulled the motor and tranny.

Last week a local PITA bone yard owner crushed a 68' Coronet. He hates mopars for some reason. Must be too many of them kicked his ass in street races back in the day. He knows I would grab up everything possible from it and so would his own son-in-law, but he is a jerk and crushed it.  From what I heard, the car ran and drove, but needed a trunk floor and rear brakes...  :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:  I don't normally wish death on anyone. This guy may be different..  ;)

lol steve so true about the saving them. hemihead..so what if a guy hoardes 12 cars? that doesn't mean anything.. at least most that do keep them in a safe place.. are you seriously going to say that if you had the opportunity to own 12 mopars, projects or not.. you wouldn't do it? because you'd feel guilty for owning too many and hoarding them? gimme a break, there are MORE than enough for everyone who wants one to own one..  and as for the flipping factor... just because you're in an area where there is nothing left worth finding.. cars up there rusted away in the late 70's. don't think for ONE second i'm rich, inherited money, won the lottery, or am in debt up to my eyeballs. none are true.   personally i flip a few a year to support my hobby. i don't give a rat's ass in the long run what people think about it, but IF i did, what is the big deal?

Reminds me of the time there was a 1959 black Cadillac sitting in  guys yard for a while.  It was 100% mint condition, 2 door shiny black caddy.  I loved that car and thought how the owner must of been so in love with it.  I worked at the junk yard 1/2 mile down the road from where it was and past it everyday to work.  One day I'm in the yard, and there is the caddy, with the front fender smashed in because the bull dozer in the yard just pushed it over to the side.  After I was able to close my mouth form disgrace and shock  :o  hating myself for never asking the owner if he would part with it, I walked to the office and quit. I just couldn't have a job that's purpose was to scrap cars, especially rare classics in mint condition.  Just couldn't do it.  No regrets leaving.  Still amazed that beautiful classy gloss black finned 2 door caddy was sent to the junk yard.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Then what's the big deal if a guy lets one of these rot until there's nothing left but glass, plastic, and rubber ? I don't see the difference . Everyone always crying about a car rotting and the guy that owns it won't sell versus the guy who owns a bunch of them and they sit in his garage or yard because " he's going to fix them all up " as soon as he gets the one he's working on done . The guy probably won't live long enough to fix them all .
I  have one project , 2 if you count my kid's car. I personally don't care how many anyone owns but if a guy wants to buy one and let it rot without selling it , fine leave the guy alone . I would rather see it rot than have some greedy self proclaimed car lover shaft some guy who doesn't know the value and then flip it and stick it to next buyer .

You would rather see a car rot, instead of it sitting safely in a garage?  If it's in the garage, at least it's not getting any worse for the next owner to fix. :slap:

I don't really care   :shruggy: . Besides , there is so many of them ( as stated before ) that if you did let it rot , one less wouldn't matter . It would make the ones left a better investment , wouldn't it ? You could get more money on the flip .

and so it all comes full circle.. i don't think there is a winning answer for you in this comversation? i am not a greedy self proclaimed car lover by the way, i am a  charger collector. i think the same goes for daytona 500, chad magee, hotrod98, sunroofsuperbird, hemi68charger, Troy, and others who have lots of them.. we will just have to agree to disagree on this one.. i think there is a huge difference between owning/hoarding 12 of them, and owning one or more mopars for 20 years and it sitting outside and rotting all that time. no car cover, no nothing. they obviously don't have a passion for the car.. so what if someone talked them out of it cheap? and so what if the new owner sells it to someone else for $1000-2000 more than they paid, and now the new owner has their dream car and won't let it sit and rot?
on a side note, you never did answer my question.. HONESTLY, if you had the time, means, space, and money.. are you telling me you WOULDN'T own 12 mopars if you could? project or not?

I like the part were he says "I would rather see it rot than have some greedy self proclaimed car lover shaft some guy who doesn't know the value and then flip it and stick it to next buyer.". In mu opinion, If the buyer and the seller make a agreement on price and they are both happy with it.  Then who cares if you sell it for $1000 more or $50,000 more.  It does not matter.  I once bought a 70 HEMI road runner out of a Field in Idaho. There was about 300 other cars there. It was a teton flood victim. The car had sit there since 1976 till 2002 when I bought it.  People had scavenged parts off of it and nobody ever looked at the vin. The Dana was gone. The 4spd was gone. The hump was cut out. The front clip was gone but the fender tag was there.  I got ahold of the guy that owned the field and asked what he was going to do with the 70 road runner. He said he was going to crush everything. I asked how much he wanted for it. He told me $50. I also asked about a 70 coronet 4 dr. He wanted $100.  I went up the next weekend and bought them both.  Three days later. I got offered $5000 for the Runner and took it.  Not one place did I offer any money. I asked how much. He told me. I bought it. I was asked if it was for sale. I said how much will you give me. He told me.  So how is that wrong???  Should I have said to the buyer, "well actually, I only Paid $50 for it and I had to go and get it. So I'll sell it for $200."? I don't think so.  Should I have told the Guy I bought it from what it was?  He didn't do his research. He owned the car for allmost 30 years. I told him it was a road runner and he told me the price. Should I have said, "well, You say $50 but since it is a real HEMI car. Here is $4000."?  NOPE!!
I don't see anything wrong with flipping some cars to support your habit.   As for "HORDING" them.  It depends on the circumstances.  If you have 20 cars and you have no funds. Then I agree.  Sell some and build 1 or 2.  But if you have the funds and you have 20 cars. Why the hell not have 20 projects? There is nothing wrong with people collecting the cars, Unless it is purely for money.  But if you have a true passion.  Then own 500 cars.  Why should anyone care?  So what if you can only drive one at a time. Drive a different one every day.  I have a friend that collects cars. He has 10 that are done. There is nothing cooler than driving one of them to a show with the other nine somewere in the line.  I don't see why you have a problem hemihead.
But I guess its not a perfect world.

Yes, but there's a second part of my dream.  Not far from me is a place called Old Dominion Mustang where this guy basically bought up a bunch of 60's and 70's mustangs and setup a store in an old house.  He sells everything Mustand, old and new.  And he's done so well at it, that now he does Camaro's too.  He's know throughout the Mustang world as a one stop shop for all your restoration parts needs. http://www.oldominion.com/

The reason I would want to buy up all those Chargers would be to setup a place like that for us. Imagine having a one stop, get everything you need, new and used, REASONABLY PRICED, Dodge Charger store where you could walk in, call in, browse in, and get anything you needed for your project that moment without getting raped in the process?  Heck, I could even do trade-in's.  Got three of those and none of these?  Trade me one of your spares for something you really need.  No cash required!

But hey, a guy can dream can't he?  :slap:
