I was talking to a buddy of mine a while back who has a 69 Camaro RS SS, He was saying that when he purchased his car he called GM and they were able to verify the authenticity of the car (or at least the serial number) and give/mailed  him some info on the car.

Does dodge have anything like that?

'69 R/T 440 4 spd

I love being me......ask anybody!

Ghoste

No, not unless it's a 1967 model or older.  Most of those records were lost long ago.

I had at least  15 RS/SS 69 Camaro's and there was no way that info was available.  I had 3 Big block pace cars and tried very hard to get at least production Numbers for the big Blocks, it's  just not there.  I was told back then all that info was lost in a warehouse fire, just like people say happened to Dodge.  So I guess they used the same warehouse.  :insertsarcasm:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Some info must have been available from GM or maybe it was Canada only because I have a sheet with a breakdown from a local 69 COPO Camaro that lists options, serial number, original owner, that sort of thing.  :shruggy:

Ford/Mercury are the only ones that still have this info available.

Not sure what you have?  They had a "protecto Plate" That was in the glove box with the owners name and address etc.. etc...  And the VIN, like my Pace car 124679N619395 ( I actually remember it) breaks down into 1) Chevrolet 2) camaro, 4 ) V8,  67) Conv, 9) 1969,N) Norwood Ohio, 619395) Production #  all 69 camaros started after 500,000.  Then your fender wall tag.  But you couldn't call GM about Hey how many 69 Pace cars had the 396/ 325hp motor?  That stuff was lost, in a fire, in a warehouse, just like Dodge.  :insertsarcasm:

What is it you need to know? Do you have the build sheet or the fender tag?

Ghoste

This isn't a production breakdown that I'm talking about.  I'm talking about sending them a VIN for a particular car and they send you all the information idicating what came on that car originally and where it went first.

That's what I'm talking about, that stuff is not available from what I've known, just the info I explained and that's it.  Same problem with my 69 charger, I wish Dodge had a record of what was optioned on it, but?

To my knowledge Chrysler never kept records in the first place of many of each option were sold in each car.

If you're reading this you're on the help line right now. :2thumbs:
