It is winter here in PA and it got kinda warm today its around 55 degrees, well i went out to the garage ( which does not have heat) and glanced at my car which is covered by a car cover and noticed droplets of water coming out from under the cover  :brickwall: so i took the cover off only to see that for some reason the entire car was soaked  :RantExplode:  and even under the hood the engine was wet and the same as the entire underneath of my car was wet. It looks like somone actually sprayed my car with a hose...And NO the roof is not leaking.. For some reason it got extreamly damp in there..

Is there anything i can do to prevent this from happening again..  :icon_smile_question:

My shop will do that too with the change in temperature and damp weather. I just run fans and turn on the furnace to dry it out. A dehumidifier will work too but that can be expensive to run if it is a larger area.

I do not cover my cars for this reason! Sorry I can blow and rise off the dust if I must.  But I had this happen.  Now I always have a dehumidifier running and a fan to move the air around.....

What are golden rods?  I park my cars on plastic and use fans.

golden rods are basicly mini dehumidifers, they keep moisture out of places, designed for small places like gun safes, tackle boxes, tool boxes, etc.  you can get them at walmart and most outdoors store for around 10-15 bucks.  I actually got mine from a gun show and picked up 4 for 10 bucks, i use those on my motors and in my gun safe. i put them on top of the motor then put the tarps on, works great.

Years ago, we used to put a 100 Watt light bulb under the hood and then close the hood.  Kept the engine from freezing up.  One note of caution concerning a dehumidifier.  Unless your dehumidifier is designed to automatically defrost itself, the coils will freeze up and the unit will run continuously but it won't do anything.  Most of the cheaper units are the non defrosting type.  These cheaper types don't usually work below about 70 degrees.

I took the cover off and packed it away. I have a fan running on high out there now im hoping it helps..  i pulled the car out and let it run for a while to burn off some of the moisture on the engine and engine bay, shamied off the outside of the car, but couldnt really do much for the underneath..  Ill check in the morning, in hope that its dry.  Thanks guys,  keep the info and ideas comingI will try anything to stop this .. :2thumbs:  Tomarrow im gonna try and find some golden rods..  for a minute i thought you guys meant the weed called golden rod  :slap:
