I watched "Finish Line" tonight and because of the abundance of Mopars in it I can't say I was disappointed but the Mopars were the only saving grace.  A Superbird has a big role in the flick but for my money the real star of the show was a 70 Charger RT.  As for the humans trying to act in this flick, well, they are really just providing a low budget background for the cars.
It rates a little better than another movie which featured a 70 Charger, "Bad Georgia Road".
And that's my cinematic criticism for this week.  :flush:

bull

Finish Line? I couldn't find anything about it on either www.imdb.com or www.imcdb.org. When was it made?

71ChallengeHer

I was thinking about ordering that movie. :scratchchin: Here's the link  :icon_smile_big:http://www.finishlinemovie.com/

Ghoste

In 05 I think but that gives you some idea of the budget.  It's almost like a home movie.  Lots of Mopars like I said though.  The nemesis drives a 70 Mustang and the hero's father gets killed drag racing a Charger.

dukeboy_318

so its kinda another spin off from fast and the furious only on a way cheaper budget?  hmmm, might just check it out :scratchchin:
1978 Dodge Power Wagon W200 4x4- 408 stroker/4spd
1974 Dodge Dart Swinger. 440 project in the works.

Ghoste

Only inasmuch as F&F was a spinoff of the old Hot Rod movies from the 50's.  It's an old storyline really.

Charger-Bodie

I have the Finishline movie , yes the acting is amatuer . the movie , from what I understand was made by a car club in cali .......I guess all things considered I thought it was alright . atleast it had a plot unlike some twisted movies nowadays. :Twocents:
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

Ghoste

And it's better than Bad Georgia Road.

And that's probably better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Ghoste

I'm not so sure.  After I saw it, I kind of wanted to poke out my eyes  It did have a 70 Charger in it though so that is likely what stopped me.

Low budget and bad acting is an understatement with this movie. But like mentioned, it does have some cool cars in it. The owner of the '70 Charger is a member on the '70 board. He's probably here as well. He bought the car after the movie was made. It's now in Norway.

Dodge Don loaned me his copy, or someone's copy, well over a year ago.  I started to watch the movie and after about 8 minutes I was wondering when the shaggin' was going to start.  As mentioned, the acting was bad, hell, it made some porno movies look like Oscar contenders, but the cars were cool.  It's alright if you've got 90 or so minutes to spare and it don't cost you too much.  I imagine some of the guys that get wood when they watch the Dukes of Hazzard will be blind by the time their done with this movie.

Ghoste

You mean Bad Georgia Movie or the other one?  BTW, the shagging in Bad Georgia Movie doesn't come until 2/3 of the way through it.

UFO

How about a TV charger. From Get Smart season five.

Ghoste

While we're dredging up cheesy low budget flicks with Chargers, does anyone recall the name of that movie about some kind of streeet racing gang where the leader drove a 68 or 69 Charger with sidepipes?  There was a first gen Firebird in it too I think.  It was like an early to mid 70's drive-in sort of fare.

JR

I hope thats' a one way street that green 69 is on. :o
70 Charger RT top bananna /68 Charger RT triple green

I'll bet you're thinking of The Hi-Riders (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076140/).

I don't too many folks know about this one as it has been mentioned in the past and usually a bunch of these  :shruggy:  come up.

For those not familiar with it, I'd scan the tv guide before going to spend any money on it.   :Twocents:

I see it was banned in Norway.  That must be for being so crappy which means it must be the flick if it has a Charger in it.  I thought it was earlier than that but how many really terrible movies with Chargers could there be, right??

You mean like Collier & Co?  :smilielol:

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

Death1970Proof

There was a film in 1991 called "RUSH" which features I believe a 1968 charger, It seems to only show it in short doses though...
"Remember when I said this car was death proof? Well that wasnt' a lie-this car is 100%death proof- only to get the benefit of it honey you really need to be sitting in my seat"...

I haven't seen it yet but I have ordered it.  I'll wait until I see it to pass judgement on it as a crappy movie.

TheGhost

I enjoyed Finish Line, but only because of all the cars.  Didn't really care about the actors or the plot.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.
