To add headrests or not in a first gen

I am redoing the interior in the 67 this winter and I have a question to decide.  I have an old pair of headrests for a 67 style B-body.  A friend of mine is encouraging me to to redye them white (they're red now) and add them to my car.  I'm reluctant because I'm kind of on the fence as to whether I like them in the fastbacks or not.  He insists it's just because I'm not used to seeing them.
You guys think they look goofy in the 1st gen or is it more of a thing that the factory missed the boat not making standard?

Do you have all the pieces for inside the back rest?
Not familiar with '67 ,the '69s have guides inside.
If you like them why not add them on.

Well that's just it, I can't decide if I like them or not.  At the end of it, I could just flip a coin but I suppose in this instance I'd a let a majority opinion sway only from a future sellling point of view.  Not a does it add value point but if the majority seem to like them better, does it make it easier to sell the car?
Once I cut the holes in the top of my new seat covers I'm committed.

I like the sleekness of the 1st gens interior and they just dont seem like they would fit in that well.  I guess im not familiar with your car but if its custom I can see it, but if its basically stock I wouldnt do it.

   hmmmmmm i think if the headrests are the same shape as the ones offered in a  67 charger then i would put them in to be honest can't think what 67 B-body headrests look like now
  put  the correct headrests in mine 18 years ago  as mine was built with out them , as  it had a SPD of november 68

A little of both.  I'm by no means a purist but I don't have big fender flares or anything like that.  Sort of a day two look.

I like the look of the optional headrests in the '67, so it would be an easy decision for me. I saw a pic of a 1st Gen with '69 seats and headrests not too long ago, and I liked that even better. Then again, I've always liked that style headrest, particularly as compared to the high back buckets.

After having looked out the rear window with my head upside down when I got rear ended in my '66, I'd almost put any style in, but the '67 headrests look natural in the car.

I'd be more likely to buy a car with factory headrests, all other things being equal.

yeah i remember them now   yep would defiantly put them in ( Ghoste )    looks good with them finishes of the interior       but the interior  still look good with out them also .

I think without would be better, since there are basiclly 4 bucket seats in them cars. It would look like the rears are missing something to me with them on front and not rears.

As far as parts, the only thing I am missing is the spring clips that go inside the seat.  I figure I'll either rig something up or not even worry about them since they'll sit at the lowest position all the time anyway most likely.

i would put them on.

and they add to the safety of your vehicle as well (preventing whiplash)

The only correct spring clips I ever saw for sale Nacho were an insanely stupid amount of money (like 300 dollars for four stupid little bits of steel) so screw that!  I will make a set and use those and once they are locked away inside the seat no one will ever know that they are not the Chrysler issued ones.

I've got them in my '67 and they seem to always be hitting the glove compartment door or dash pad when I tilt the seat forward.  I like the look of them though.  So far as safety they probably don't add much.  Sort of like the collapsible steering column.  You might put them up for sale and get so much money that would make up your mind - or not.

Never thought about that.  Does it hit regardless of where the seat is positioned?

Yeah my headrests hit something regardless of seat position.  Obviously it's only the right seat.  It makes me cringe each time it happens.  Headrests in the 67 are unusual and I think they are attractive but you don't notice if they aren't installed.
