Do you mean stock factory or recommendation?  Factory was vacuum but I'd throw in the mechanical for an aftermarket upgrade.

If it's otherwise stock then yeah, I'd put a 750 Holley mechanical secondary double pump on there.

Once again though I'm a silly numbers guy.

Which would mean vacuum for me. Then again I'm still running points instead of electronic ignition as well.

I'm not a numbers guy but I would go with a Carter anyway .

I don't know if it's stock,I don't think so but the guy I got it from didn't know anything about it.I would probably change the cam and some head work at least.
