G'day guys,

firstly, I see we are being extremely "moderated" lately, so I hope this thread doesn't get moved too quickly. (I thought my earlier Christmas message might last a bit longer) :shruggy:

Today.....right now it's Christmas morning in fact - I got an original Mopar Tuff Wheel for my 71 Bee. My wife bought it on Ebay a while back and it no sooner arrived and it was under the tree.

I finally got it. :2thumbs: I am a very happy boy. Hope you all get what you asked for as well. :icon_smile_big:

:iagree:

would love to get GOOD CLOSE UPS PICS since I was thinking on get one of those some day next year.

Is the regular $100-120 repro or the $220-250 accurate repro ?

G'day Guys,

give me a sec and I'll post a picture.....it's an original one - not a repro.

Here's your picture Nacho.....this wheel is very solid all round and has the adaptor boss on the back. A great wheel.

Is your charger converted to RHD?

No.

You can drive cars here fully registered with left hand drive so long as they are over 30 years old.

Nice.  That was one main reason I decided not to try and move to Australia.  I thought you would have to convert anything you brought.    Maybe I will still try.

Thanks guys,

I remember when she got it (off Ebay), I had a choice of a repro of the thick ones, or this wheel. I weighed it up and thought a decent used wheel would probably look a bit better than a brand new one which makes everything else look bad.
It's interesting to note that Australian Chargers had a tuff wheel option and the grip on them was identical to the wheel I have. Even the spokes were the same, although the horn pad configuration was completely different.

Anyway.....I'm out there painting up the adaptor as we speak. :2thumbs:

maybe because your one is like 71/72s SEs and laters ? more solid look and chrome trim around. regulars are with a silver painted groove on top and without chromed trim

Great present. I love the Tuff Wheel on my Chally. It feels alot better driving it with the smaller steering wheel. :2thumbs:

Well, whilst the guests were over for Christmas lunch yesterday, I was secretly wandering in and out of the garage painting up the wheel adaptor and cleaning it up.

It's on now.......and I love it. It's funny that something like a ratty old, used steering wheel could provide so much enjoyment for me. :2thumbs:
