I can't wait to see it. He bought it on ebay from Texas. Pics soon.

I was just waiting for the message to say "My friend just bought a General Lee from HLPAG!"  :smilielol:

Luckily for him he didn't buy it from Illinois  :D Grats to him!

Sorry no link. But I'll see it this weekend. He said it's a 318 with a 4spd.

A friend of mine sold a GL on ebay last year. It was a 68 modified to look like a 69. It was a total pile of junk, but it brought 13k. I was shocked that he got that much for it. I'll bet he didn't have 3 grand in the car and most of that was spent on bondo. It actually looked pretty good in the pics. His disclaimer was "what you see in the pics is what you get".
I hope your friend ends up with a much nicer car.  Personally, ebay scares the crap out of me nowadays.

I want a General Lee but I would never buy one off of ebay.  I would be worried that it was an HPLAG car that someone bought, realized what a pile of junk they had, and decided to dump it off.

what cinda granny truck trans and shifter is in that sucker
GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

Yeah, thats the one. Not too bad. It's been converted from a column shift to a 4spd, thats why the shifter looks homemade I guess. Interior needs work, I'll probly be helping him with that since mine turned out so well. I'll get him on the charger forum now too, even though he owns a few chevys :'(. :eek2:

You have your work cut out for you my friend. Lots of parts missing on that one. Looks like it may have a later model 318 and 4-speed setup.
If they're still bringing that kind of money, I might just pull a couple of cars out of storage and blow a little orange paint on them.
Honestly, I wish him the best and hope that he enjoys it. They're getting very hard to find in any condition. Certainly can't blame him for wanting to own a Charger.
Look forward to seeing him joining the forum.

I didn't ask him what he paid but the $16,500 "buy it now price" seems like a good deal for that car.

Looks to be a good start and maybe he'll enjoy it enough to sell off those Chevy's.    ;)

man i sure hope he didn't pay $16,500 for that car.. it sure needs a lot of work for one in that price range. just imagine after it gets correct wheels($600), upper door pads($500), door panels($400), seats ($800), paint job with body work(he said it has rust around back window, rockers, wheel wells, and trunk floor needs replaced), rear window trim, side marker lights.. you could go on and on just from pics.. he'll be at $30k in no time and still with a 318 and lord knows what kind of shifter/tranny.
good luck to him though. the orange paint and decals sure seem to obscure people's mentality of a nice car and what you SHOULD be able to get for $16,500 in a 68-70 charger
