wiper ? also

Hey all , since I don't have a #'s matching anything I would like to put in a 3 speed wiper set up. Two questions , one is the motor part a simple bolt on or do I need a different "transmission"(linkage) Two , wiring ,the swich plugs into my harness with two extra spade connectors. In my harness I have 4 brown wires. One dark brown w/tracer and three light brown. What is what?? 69 Charger.......Is there a way to test my switch before I install everything??  Thanks and Merry Christmas to all......
