Hello to all....i have a 70 dodge charger with slightly modded 440..went to start vehicle today for the first time in about a month,i let it run for approx. 15 mins. & noticed tranny leaking pretty bad at the front.....any ideas what this could be. the car was idling in park..........thx to any suggestions.........

NMike

well if it was not overfilled and causing the vent to leak excess, then it is the pump oring assuming oil from the bellhousing. oil from the front area might be the second gear band nut, the trans line, the shifter shaft seal, dipstick tube or the pan itself.

if it is from the bellhousing, the trans has to be pulled. good time to upgrade the band, new clutches and a shift kit while its out.

from the bellhousing? or pan... you just said front, but did not specify.

if it is the bellhousing, it could be the housing o-ring like NMike said, or it could be your front pump seal. either way, NMike is correct, if you want it fixed, the trans needs to be dropped.

now if it is someplace else... well, you need to be a tad more specific.  hope this helps.
