I need a best guess as to what my 69 Charger will run in the 1/4. I haven't run the car since the new motor and I need to provide best et/mph to sign up for Pinks All Out at E Town. My combo is as follows;

Stock (Hemi)body 69 Charger R/T (weight @3900 w/me)
477 CID Hemi engine dyno numbers 575 HP @ 6500, 550 Ft Lbs @3400 (closer to 600 HP since tuning)
stock A833 Hemi trans
410 Dana,
Stock springs, frame tied, Caltracks, M/T drag radials.

I'm thinkin' somewhere around low 12s to high 11s?  :shruggy:

No way I'm going to be able to run the car before the deadline. So what do I tell these guy's without being to far out of wack?

Yea, about what you said, high 11's, low 12's. Hope that helps :2thumbs:

11.90 at 121mph. You should have way more mph then 112. What did it run with the old engine?

I only ran the car once with the old motor....I was wayyyyyyy disappointed. The engine wasn't tuned well, I was chasing mixture and ignition as well as no traction. I think I ran low 14s with it running like crap. It's a completely different animal now (except the traction issue is worse). With the engine finally sorted out I have a gameplan on getting some hook. The car is so different then what is was that there is no comparison.... :icon_smile_big:

For some reason I thought you had more than a few real good time slips with the old engine.  Slowly losing what's left of my noodle I guess.  :shruggy:
I like the number dave threw out.

The best numbers I ever got were chassis dyno numbers. I still had a vacuum leak (turned out to be a leak in the PB booster) at the time so the tune was still off. The guy loaded up the plugs backing the car on the dyno... :flame: :brickwall:...only turned 350 HP at the rear wheels. Based on that it was about mid to low 13s at the time... :shruggy:. If you remember I had FINALLY figured out the vacuum leak, got it fixed and the motor running like it should have when I broke the rod.. :brickwall:...as they say...the rest is history.... :D

It'll run about a tenth slower than mine !  :icon_smile_big:  :haha:

Like I said in the PM ; it has lots of power to run mid 11's and will eventually go faster once the supension tuning "bugs" are ironed out !  :2thumbs:

You say Stock springs and Caltracks.  Are you running just the main leaf?

What size tire and how old?

Any chassis tuning? Shocks, springs. pinion angle, bushings??

I'd be disappointed if I couldn't pull 120mph with that combo, should run 11's.

Man, no way would I ever put my car on Pinks.  I love it too much to risk it like that.   :eek2:

Cool thanks Tom! All I have for performance figures the way the car sits now is I'm over 80 in just about a 10th of a mile...wheel spin and all. I don't know what that would equate to in the 1/4, but it's got to be good! :icon_smile_big:

Funny how I remember lot's of folks here dishing smallblocks and, ironically, the only Mopar to ever win the Pinks all out was a 360 smallblock. He had :D a 10 second car, no juice and no boost. And yes, I can talk as I have both, just haven't finished the stroker big block
Charger yet. However my stroker smallblock is turning out nicely. ;)

Steve P.

I don't remember anyone ever DISHING a small block... I have windowed a few...  :smilielol:

Seriously, there is nothing wrong with a small block. It's all in what you want to do with it and how much you want to spend.  I prefer big blocks because of the torque and brute power without having to turn the crank to 10,000.......  Stroking a small block takes it up a few steps. The very nice thing about a small block is less weight.  :yesnod:
