Just wondering if there was a simple way to fix this obviously broken shifter mount. I have read another thread (http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,27615.0.html) (and had a good chuckle regarding the girlfriend  :smilielol: ) and thus have a few references to go to (if I have to)  :P. Anybody out here do this type of repair? I do have another complete A833, so I could trade tail housings, but....

Unless your case has numbers stamped on it you don't want to lose then I would consider the following:

http://www.brewersperformance.com/products.asp?id=129

As you see from the link, Brewers sells the cases for as low as $79.95 for the 23 spline and that's cleaned up and ready to go.

Well, yes, the case has the proper numbers so I want to keep it. The tail housing could be replaced/exchanged to correct the problem (and as I mentioned I do have another complete A833 transmission, and it is out of a '68 charger - side note - I bought it from a friend of a man that wanted to convert his 383 4-speed to an auto.  :shruggy:)
