Well everyone.
Took my first ski trip of the season but to Stevens pass Wa. yesterday with my daughter. Had a lot of fun.
but it was riddled with a bunch of bad as well.
First thing was that we arrived to late to park up in the main lot so they sent us down a mile and a half to the lower lot to park. on top of that since I had a 4 X 4 truck they sent me up a rather steep hill to an even higher lot there. No biggie I though. Truck made it up that with no problems what so ever. Now since we got sent to this sub lot we ended up having to be bussed back up to the main facility. They only had one bus loading eveyone one up to transport up so that took three times before they got to us about 20 minutes per run. That sucked. Then when we finally did get there, super long lines to get the tickets. Of coarse we had to sit in lines again to get my daughters rental equiptment and by that time it was too late to get to her lesson so I had to eat the price of that one. (you see I thought it would expidite things if I pre-paid on line before we went) Well finally at 1:20 pm we finally got to do some skiing. Well a little that is. Now that was great. Snow was awesome and it felt teriffic getting back on my ski legs. but since it's pre season they close at 4pm. Weather theres plenty of snow or not and believe me it was snowin like crazy up there. So we pack everything up, stand in more lines to get on the bus back down to the lower lot and find that the hill to the lot my trucks at is a complete sheet of ice. We get everything all loaded up and drive over to the hill down to the lower lot and before me the guy in front of me with his toyota completely looses it and skids out of control down that little hill and creams into two other wrecks below that happened just before him.  :brickwall: idiot. so all of us left on the top have to sit there and wait untill photo's are taken and they remove all the carnage below so the rest of us can try to get down. Now me, being no idiot. decides to take it safe. I put my chains on while waiting for the wrecks below to be removed. after which I glide down with no problems. Not sure if the other ones made it down ok or not. I wasn't sticking around to find out. It was getting real late and I was extremly tired from the very eventfull day.
Good thing was that I did get a lttle skiin in and made it home with my little dakota safe and sound.
Note to self for next time though.....DONT EVER GO SKIING ON A SATURDAY AGAIN! That was just nuts!

Skiing is for people who aren't good enough to snowboard.  :pity: I am a snowboard instructor at our little ski place here in NJ. www.skicampgaw.com

I can board just fine.
I would just rather not sit on my ass adjusting things on and off all day. I'm there to enjoy my time in the mountains not waste my time with that kind of crap. when you get off the lift with a board you gotta spend a bunch of time screwin around with clips and crap.
I get off the lift and I'm off. See ya!
Skiing suits me just fine. :coolgleamA:

Ya that sucks waiting and waiting and waiting.  Its worth taking a day off of work to go on a weekday.

screwing around with bindings??  no way, i've got the clicker step in system and its down the slope just as fast as you skiiers.

I guess I'm just an old fart set in my ways.

I like my ski's I''m been doing it for nearly 25 years and it suits me just fine. I've been up boarding a number of times too and it has it's own appeal but as I said. When paying 40-50 bucks a trip I just want to relax and enjoy myself. I'm comfortable and relaxed when I'm on my ski's

This dogs too old to learn new tricks. I don't think the joints could take it anymore anyway. lol
