where can I find this info on the net?

69CoronetRT

For what year of car, model and plant?

Andy has lots of info on his site for 68-70 B bodies: andy440.com
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

Ghoste

A lot of it right here but there are decoders on the net.  Did you try a search here for past threads?

Now if there were only a 68 registry with an ultimate 68 decoder, Andy would be all set.  :icon_smile_big:

As I mentioned above (but did not mention as being specifically for '68's as he originally asked about his '68 in an earlier thread http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,37248.0.html), go to Jim Shines web site http://www.jimshine.com/ and click on the decoder link (5th one down).  ::)  :icon_smile_big:  It is a good resource. A '68 registery would be a great site. So who wants to/is going to tackle that?

I wasn't really dissing anyones efforts to help Andy, it was more of a broadsided but good natured and well intentioned kick at 68 owners for not having a 68 registry.  Chris has arguably established the very model of single year single model car forums for all to aspire to.  And that's my rear kissing post for December.

At the risk of sounding "rear kissing"  I second Ghoste's statement about Chris' site :2thumbs:  This site &  the 71-74 site are a close second.
No disrespect intended, just a little more challenging to manuever is all.

Seriously, how about a '68 site? I know almost nothing about starting up, running, and generally maintaining a site.  :P Maybe Chris could lend someone some help in that area? Just a thought.....  :2thumbs: Its all good.

Without Don (DodgeDon), none of this would have happened. He did all the decoders you guys see on the site. It's a 50/50 deal with us (at least that's my version  ;)). And that's my rear kissing post for December.  :P

Thanks for the words Ghoste , I won't ever hold them against you.  ;)

Dan, this '68 Registry subject comes up every couple months, and it always seems to fizzle out. I thought Troy was doing something with one, but not sure.

It would be nice to see something. Not some fly-by-night type of site, but a bonafied real deal '68 Registry. :Twocents:

Troy

There once was a 68 Registry but it was effectively abandoned (not really the best word I could think of but the result is the same). Yes, I now own it. Chris nailed it with this:

I can build a site in under 10 minutes (and I have a server already). Now, what do you want it to do? That is where it starts getting difficult and time consuming.

As for decoders, I have andy440.com bookmarked (although I practically have 68 fender tag codes memorized).

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I imagine something along the lines of the 1969 registry. Easy...I'm guessing no, but I would be willing to help with any time consuming tasks (e.g. registry data input) and design tasks (the engineer in me is trying to get out again) if needed. I do like those cars. Mmmm....  :yesnod:

Thanks  I tried to keep it simple.  Building the site really isn't that hard especially when you have a hosting company that offers a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) program to build the site.
An hour or two a day is all you need to build it....then when you finally publish it you can add to it at your leisure.
Chris' 70 site is more complex & offers a ton of information.  Something I'd love to do but don't have the time for.  They both (Chris & Don) have done a great job with the site.
Whats time consuming for me is the data entry aspect.
Its more a labor of love.  If you dont love the cars it gets old real fast.... :Twocents:
