Well I went to a local cruise in and then out car hunting for my next project this morning. Found a lot of chevys and fords, but then all of a sudden I stumbled across this! I knocked on the door, but no one was home. Looks like a really nice project, I hope I can get it. Anyways heres some pictures. I'm going back tomorrow. The only damage I saw was a ding at the very front the front fender, the roof doesn't look like it got rusted through but, it got baked by the sun pretty good.

Do you know if its for sale or no? :scratchchin:
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

Harlow

I have no idea if its for sale. 3 of the tires are flat. This is a good time of year to buy a car, since Christmas is coming up and a lot of people are short of cash.

Scott, could I use the pics for my site? :popcrn:

Btw, very nice find :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

Cody, if it were my car I would let you, but just because its someone else's car I'm gonna say no, I would be a little bit annoyed if someone took a picture of my car without me knowing about it and put it up on a website. Sorry dude. If I buy it, the pictures are all yours.

Man, that front plate is the equivalent of a "black plate" in California. That person has owned that car for a very long time, you've got your work cut out for you as far as talking them into selling.

Which leads me to another thought...if they've held onto that car for as long as they have, I wonder what's in the garage?? :scratchchin:

Probably floor-to-ceiling with boxes, furniture, garbage & crap.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Harlow

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, its probably someones baby or was passed down to them...but we'll see, hopefully I can get it.

True, that is pretty hypocritical...I guess to me this is a little different than putting it on a rotting mopar site  :shruggy:

If he's had that car parked out in the driveway like that for more than about 1/2 an hour, then he's probably already had offers on it.

If you found it , then someone else has to.  But don't let that stop you from trying.  Good luck and bring cash with you.  :2thumbs:   Chuck.........

I'm sure someone else has found it. The area I was searching in is crawling with old cars. I looked at the google maps of the house and it looks like it used to be under a car cover. Maybe I'll get lucky and I'll be the right person at the right time.

Yeah, I've talked to that guy. He said he never wants to sell it.  He's got a Ramcharger in the garage, I don't know why he doesn't just swap the cars and put the Charger in there.  I even drove by in my Charger one day and asked about it.  Still a no that time.

looks a good original charger to restore  from the pictures ..........   good luck trying to get it

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

paul, do you know anything about the car?

All I know is that it's PROBABLY an original Tucson car.  It's got A/C for sure (tinted AirTemp windows).  It's been sitting there forever, I've tried to get it a couple times, but no dice.  It doesn't seem like the guy is interested at all just to talk about the car, let alone sell it.

Respect what you're saying, but I don't get it?  People take pictures all the time of cars they see, we have hundreds on this site? :Twocents:  Me don't get it? :eek2:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Ghoste

And it doesn't appear as though he's trying to hide it in any way.
Good luck with getting it btw.

Huh? He could have bought it a month ago from the guy who never took the plates off. Lots of cars get passed around to different owners before anyone actually does serious work on them.

Steve P.

One more thing to consider. You never know when someone needs the cash.  A few years ago I was trying to buy a car from a guy. Actually had spoken with him on about 4 or 5 occasions about buying it. (Nope, never gonna sell it). The right after I bought my 65' he calls me up and says he'll sell it to me. After spending a bunch on the car and going to Vegas to get it I had next to nothing left.   I have never seen that 67' GTX since.  My point is, you never know when that car that will NEVER be for sale,,,, GOES UP FOR SALE...  Keep trying...  :2thumbs:

It just bugs me...people leave cars OUTSIDE -- exposing them to sun, rain, snow, whatever,  -- - with no intention of ever 'fixin' er up" (as they say) but when somebody offers to buy - - its not for sale!!  Whatever the reason is, if these people decide to hang onto their cars, PLEASE park them inside - - - or let it go!!   :RantExplode:

Harlow

The charger isn't for sale...hes had it since the 70's. 318 auto car.

tan top

thats a shame ! oh well at least you know for sure now :yesnod:  , had it since the 70s  cool  :yesnod: . any more you have your eye on  :popcrn:

no chargers. Theres one thats listed, 383 car, but hes asking 12 and its got some holes and pitting in the roof. A roof swap isn't too bad, but hes asking way too much in my opinion. I'm really hoping to get a project over this Christmas break. I asked about a red 66 tempest, but the woman said her late husband left it to her grandson...
