Came across them about a week ago and have read thousands of posts. great forums. just what I have been looking for. I bought a rough but running 69 RT 4 speed about a week ago and am going to get it in decent shape for a driver. Not interested in the whole 'perfect restoration use the right color of chalk on the redone inspection marks' scene...I want a nasty assed hotrod to bum out all the yuppies here where I live-downtown San Francisco.

heres a crummy pic of the car

its currently at a fabricators getting the rusted junk cut out and patched..i'm actually going over tommorrow and will take a ton of pics to bore you with.

its a XS29L9-XXXXX vin with a real factory 4 on the floor..which is exactly what I have wanted since around 1978.

I AM STOKED!

its actually in pretty crappy shape ( no interior, rust) but I looked it over real careful and all the sheetmetal appears original and unwrecked, it looks to have the original 4 speed and rear end in it-(the 440 is a transplant) and it drives really  strong and straight..so I decided to just go ahead and jump on it as I have been looking around here for a while and the only other 69 4 speed i found was a put together auto conversion. I have a friend here is a Mopar nut and builds cars for dudes up at Infineon Raceway and he has agreed to help me build it out the way I want over the next 2-4 years. Right now Im getting the rust cut out and a temporary cheap-interior put in so I can drive it a while before starting in on the project. I figure the first year I will re-do all the suspension, weld in structural stuff (torque boxes.frame connectors etc and give it real brakes, then year 2 build a nice 426. Then year 3..maybe a decent paintjob and a better interior.

Welcome!!! Can't wait to see what your Charger becomes! (another one for the split grill crowd! :icon_smile_big:)

As for the above quote....oil injection into the exhaust should do the trick on the Haight Asbury crowd as well as any haughty neighbors......get some!
