Last night I started a topic trying to find out about a charger that had multiple 68' and 69' parts on it. I just got the vin# and wondered if someone could help. XP2968b327601 the title says 69' front clip of car is 68'. I'm going to fully restore it any way just want to know if it's tags have been switched or is the value of the car worth nothing because it could be pieced from parts? thanks again all you guys for the help.

the vin reads
1968
2 door sport coupe
built at dodge main

That's probably XP29G8B which makes it a 68 VIN number. Looking at the car I wouldn't touch it as it's much easier to put 68 fenders and grill on a 69 body than it is to put 69 rear quarters and tailpanel on a 68 body. I'd say they rebodied a 69 or merged multiple cars into one. I'd try to find out why because the story they gave you is full of holes. There are numbers stamped into body panels but it won't do you much good without the original VIN or fender tag (the numbers on the 68 parts don't match the VIN but in 69 they do). The VIN is for a 383 2bbl car made in Hamtramck, MI.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I wouldn't even bother trying to find out why.  The car is a mish mash of parts that are being sold on the basis of a lie.  Forget about this car and move on.
