In the parking garage of my sisters apartment there is this '71 Chally thats been parked since 2001 at least.  I left a note on the door a couple years ago when i helped her move in but never got a call.  Anyways, here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.  340, console automatic.

Let me take a wild stab here...they're going to restore it someday.

I'm suprised that none of the tires are flat.

I had a '71 Chally years ago that I was "going to restore one day".  But after a couple of years, I realized it was never going to happen and I let it go to the next guy that came along and asked to buy it.  He got a heck of a deal too!

But now I have my '68 Charger so its all good  :icon_smile_wink:

Make Her a offer, If the price is right they'll probably sell. Looks like Cancer starting to take over though, I'd like to have it. Plus 340 was a option in 71 while the 383 was standard, 340 actually rarer. LEON. :scratchchin: :scratchchin: :scratchchin: :scratchchin: :scratchchin: :scratchchin: :scratchchin:

Wow, rear shot looks like it just needs a wash, but that front fender is NASTY!! Cool car though.

I tried to get somewhere on a '70 Challenger at an apartment complex a few years ago but after I started poking around the thing disappeared. Obviously you've got nothing to lose by asking the owner to sell but perhaps it's time for a more aggressive approach. You must track them down and present a cash (in hand) offer face to face.

The70RT

He probably knows what he has. Since the tires are up who knows maybe he starts it every so often and moves it in and out. Yeah maybe he will restore it someday. He lives at an apartment but lots of people fall on hard times and never sell their car. At least it's not rotting out like that yellow cuda with a tarp...... :-\

Nice find. Great color combo and a 340. I'd love to have a 71 Plum Crazy Chally. Make an offer.  you never know. A guy around here went to look at an A-body Barracuda Vert. When he got there the guy had a 70 T/A , Yellow. 4 speed pistol grip. Original owner , it had 30,000 miles on it. Garage kept and it had a tiny rust spot on the one lower quarter. The guy bought it for $10,000.  :shruggy:

Looks like tons of bondo  in that thing...I would say that there is a lot hiding under all that shiny purple paint. That car is going to need a lot. Done 340 cars  go for 30-40K, so I would think 5-8 K for a car in that condition, site unseen, mechanicals unknown.....

Yea I agree. Make an offer!

I want to, just one thing holding me up $$$$$

After i sell my 68 i'll see what kind of chance i have, but i really dont need it.  I just want it because its my favorite year Chally.  My old roommate's Dad used to have one just like it.  My old roommates Dad died on the jobsite one day (Ironworker) and my old roommate would always like to have a purple '71 Chally like his dad had.  I've told him about this car and that if i can ever get it i would sell it to him for exactly what i paid.

Thats what i'm thinking.  Quarters, doors, and fenders, and a roof.  I should have kept that 70 cuda parts car i had with a mint roof.  Are cuda roofs the same and Challys?
