Hemidog

best looking 'vette i've seen in a long time!  :icon_smile_big:

Charger74

   :hah: :hah:  That is pretty dang funny.  Sad to do that to a vette, of that year, but still funny as hell.

Charger_Fan

He should attend the next Bloomington show...just imagine how many heart attack induced ambulance rides there will be that weekend! :smilielol:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

mally69

But it's obviously not a monumental waste of time to rip it apart on a web forum... :eyes:

Why is it that no one seems to appreciate another's hard work? It's a car. It's unique. It's an expression of the owner. Deal with it. I can just imagine what that guy thinks of anyone who is silly enough to restore a car back to factory stock condition.

Any of you car aficionados know the inspiration for this one? It should be obvious...

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

mally69

There is one thing that you actually can say about it,   that is  it is STILL a corvette even though its paint and whatever else is of bad taste to most people :popcrn: :popcrn:

TruckDriver

The inspiration? A bad drug trip?     Looks like he was TRYING to get a "Corvette Grand Sport" look out of it. Didn't work!

The Corvette Grand Sport theme just doesn't work well with the circa 1950's wide whitewalls added to it.   :Twocents: :Twocents:  Now that's an opinion.

It's no worse looking than any other Vette of that vintage.   :hah:

I sure wish I'd bought that '67 Sting Ray roadster when I had the chance,   :brickwall:  but I've never liked that model.

dukeboy_318

My point isn't to defend it (I don't really care for it myself), it's about attitudes in general. This is the very reason I stopped going to car shows last year and also why I don't belong to any local car clubs. People are too quick to blast anything that doesn't fit within their tiny realm what they would do. I'm tired of people criticizing me (and others) for how I've done my car when I never asked for their opinion in the first place. There are lots of cars I don't like but I certainly don't waste my time searching them out to share with my friends. Don't you guys wonder why new members don't stick around? Or possibly why some long time members leave? It does bother me whether anyone else cares or not. Fortunately for me, my opinion carries a lot of weight. :D

Troy, no offense...and I'm not trying to stir the pot or ruffle feathers - but, it could be very possible that the car is only wearing vinyl graphics....for a joke or just to be outrageous for the moment. Regarding our criticisms, my gut feel is that if this car showed up at Corvette's at Carlisle, or any other Corvette show for that matter, those people would share the same opinion of it. Corvette people are funny like that - - - even willing to bet they are far worse than us Mopar people. Secondly, under all those graphics, there's a very nice looking 1978 Vette Grand Sport tribute that has some good body work and mild customization.  The owner is stretching the envelope of his Grand Sport theme, and for the record, if this was posted on a Corvette board, the responses would probably be very similar as our Mopar guys. Come on, at some point, the owner knows this is an outrageous Corvette, and its a love it or leave it appearance. I respect your feelings as the board leader that , "if you can't say anything good, don't say anything at all" ....but you have to admit, when you go to the outrageous level, like fashion, or a hair style...you have to expect some criticism.
