Can these light sockets be fixed

G'day guys,

just wondering if these sockets (in the picture) can be replaced. I'm thinking of getting them but not sure how difficult it will be to repair the corroded sockets. Can ones from other different units work ?

Any advice appreciated.

They should be removeable from the housing. They are a press fit and have teeth around the edges that act as a spring holding it in place.

I am not sure exactly what is available new. The new harness I bought had a new style socket that worked, but was different looking than stock. You should be able to find them somewhere.

Do you think I've be able to modify or use the sockets which are currently on my Superbee ?
If so, I might get these and rebuild them. I just don't want to get them and find they're a part of the actual housing and can't be replaced.

arent the sockets on that style "crimped" into the housing to seal them from weather since they are outside of the trunk?

they are a cup inside another cup making a sandwich with housing... rust makes allmost imposible to remove without damage, but MAYBE would it be posible

I talked to a guy who had rebuilt his r/t taillight housings and said he used new sockets from the Help! section at the auto stores.  I should have asked him for some better pictures.   Not sure what he did to seal them from the elements though.
