HOW MANY WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A KANSAS MAFIA CHARGER PICNIC?

YES
NO

RD

The time, place and date is up in the air, but obviously, it will be next year in better weather.  This would be a chance for all the Kansas Mafia members to get together, eat, drink, and be merry (and film some kicka55 burnouts, etc.).

I will set it up, bring the grille, and take care of many of the arrangements.  All you have to do is show up, bring a dish, something to drink, and hang out, talk cars, and have a good time.

Of course this is open to anyone who would like to show up.

So, on that note, what say you?

if you are going to say no, then at least tell me who you are so I will not ask later on if you are wanting to come.  ::)

Yes, I would be interested, but it depends upon my new job (that I am currently looking for in the Colorado/Kansas/Nebraska area).  As soon as that is settled, I can see if I can get away for the picnic.......

thats a given, but I was just wanting to get the dodgecharger.com board members to have an outing.. nothing huge, just us to have a good time together, away from chargerfever to sit back, relax, etc.  just gauging interest right now.

I have been tooling around with a couple of ideas for everyone... i.e. a heartland park tailgating event, meeting up at some random carshow with chargers "in force" and making a roadtrip of it... etc.

nothing is concrete right now

What is Kansas mafia again?

The idea came from a corporate recruiter who reminded me of a used car salesman, full of the stereotypical salesman's song and dance.  He would try to get people to re-locate to Maine, and join the "Maine mafia" as he referred to the employees of the company that worked there.

It started in the Charger chat room, when at any one time there would be 4 or 5 members from Kansas in it at once, usually around 10:30PM Central at night.  Coined the term "Kansas mafia", and the informal fraternity was born.  Really no actual organization, just several mopar guys with similar interests with Kansas addresses.

Moparguy01, Todd Wilson, buttermilksloth, RD, were among the originals.  Moparguy01 was in college at McPherson, KS at the time, now resides in North Dakota.  We used to kid around about the "bada bing" chat room, back when the Soprano's were popular.  Actually would go off in our own chat room when people started chatting about non-mopar stuff in the Charger chat.  Then 01 and Todd Wilson put Kansas Mafia in there avatar, with my following suit, and it has lived on, despite the infrequent use of the chat room recently.

i'm in missouri but not far from kansas.  would this be a family friendly event?  my charger isn't roadworthy but i suppose i could bring it on a trailer.  it is still capable of doing a burnout though.  i know moparhound and have met rd a couple times.

sure thing... though bringing your charger to chargerfever on a trailer may be more ideal...  I will have some more concrete ideas in the near (and I mean it), near future.  I am hoping to get something going that will not take away from chargerfever, but at the same time allow for the charger owners to get together since most of our mopar shows in kansas have gone to the wayside (i.e. mopar superweekend and chrysler classic at KCIR).
