"The site adds that the cars for the film might include a 1970 Dodge Charger (which also featured in the first film), the new Dodge Challenger, the Chevrolet Opala and perhaps a 1987 Buick GNX for Vin Diesel's character."

I've been told from a very reliable source that CVS has already started looking for Chargers to build for the movie.

Chargers to build or Chargers to wreck? :brickwall:

69bronzeT5

Thats the first thing I thought Curtis. They killed the Charger in #1, killed the Camaro and beat the crap outta the Challenger in #2, not sure what they wrecked in #3 and now....chances are, they will wreck the Charger :rotz:. They gotta stop making these F&F movies, they get crappier and crappier as they go on. :Twocents:

I hear this one takes place in India and the big chase scene is between an old AMC and a Mustang.

If this movie is supposed to take place before the first, then they can't very well kill the charger, since it dies in the first movie, or am I missing something...?  :popcrn:

Anyways, it should make for a good night out with the guys... We're a couple of carnut buddies, that have gone to just about every carmovie for the last 7-8 years, allways fun with those guys..

It's a prequel to the third movie, "Tokyo Drift".

why they keep making these stupid movies ill never know...bronze, they wrecked a mustang in the third movies which is lame, but still better than the charger in the first movie and the challenger in the 2nd movie. Id be nevvous about the charger in the new one for sure.

I'd be nervous about any classic car in the 4th movie.

These movies are made because they gross BIG MONEY - the studio's could car less about the cars they crush. It's all dollars and cents in the end.

Brock Samson

that opala looks like a cross between a '67 Nova and a '67 Chevelle,..
there's a market for these movies for two weeks in the theaters and then in two mos. on DVD and a six mos. later on SPIKE T.V.

They can get all the old stars back because none of their careers have really taken off since then.

It's remarkable.  That original F/F movie in 2000 was seen as a launching pad for half the people in it, but none of them have gone anywhere big almost a decade later.  Of course Vinnie is looking like the biggest weiner for going back, but even Paul Walker was "over it" after the second one.

If they indeed switched to a Chevelle at the last minute it was probably due to not being able to find enough Charger cars & parts on short notice.

Check out the ballast mounted off the back end of the Chevelle in the vid clip.  Even though the car had big enough back tires & motor to pull the wheels on a good day.  Hollywood really just wants repeatability in stunt car shots as much as anything else.

The weights will probably be digitally erased in the final cut.

miller

they have used multiple muscle cars in the past, challenger and camaro, monte carlo and mustang and GTX... and they already said vins car was "suppose" to be a gnx, so maybe the gnx is replaced with the chevelle and the charger is in a different scene.

I don't see any Chargers in these pictures.

I am just waiting for them to try to use a Cuda convertible in a F&F movie, just like the producers of Phantasm II tried to do to replicate the first one.  Since the prices are down on the e-bodies, it might then bring them back up a bit....

I had a suspision that was going to be the outcome.  They try to con you into going there with the premise that the car might get used for a few shots, but instead it becomes a buying show for them.  It would save the producers time that way, as they would not have to advertise about buying Chargers, as the Chargers would come to them instead.  They will probably be out to car shows to do the same thing......
