I'm learning the hard way as I attempt to change my ignition switch on my 70 Coronet. I incorrectly pulled the bearing housing away without removing the snap ring. Now I pulled away the steering coupler away from the gear. How do these align? How can it come apart without removing the roll pin? Can I just push this together or do I need a special tool from NASA? I'm glad its December in Chicago so I have about 5 mos to repair. Thanks all!!!

Do yourself a favor...take a 1/4 inch bolt and drive the roll pin out. Put the column together outside the car and when it's done, just put the whole assy back in, align the shaft on the coupler and drive the pin back in. Trying to do it in the car is going to drive you nuts..... :Twocents:
