The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I've often wondered if he would have had as many broken bones if the bikes he used were set up for jumping as well as they are now. You look at the tanks he used in his stunts and you wonder how he ever got them off the ground. I guess that speaks to his skill level in some sense.

Check out Evel jumping over some Dodges. I don't remember where it was, I was young, possibly California. I never knew he was a mopar guy too!
Once again, R.I.P. Evel

Many great memories. RIP Evil Knievel

I think every kid, including myself, set up planks of wood & made ramps to jump their bicycles back when he was doing it. He'd be on TV every so often & it was a big event we all couldn't wait to see. I also remember the "Snake River Canyon" jump, which was done because they wouldn't let him jump the Grand Canyon. It was planned, & planned, & then planned some more, & hyped up so where nobody wanted to miss it. Then when he did the jump, he just shot over the side of the canyon & fell like a rock tied to a parachute in the steam powered, rocket bike. Pretty disappointing, kind of like when Geraldo Rivera opened Al Capone's safe.

He will be missed though,  :'(

I kinda blame Evil Knievel for the 19 stitches I got
in my forehead when I was seven years old.  :icon_smile_blackeye:
