my poor abused charger needs a full brake job, but i cant afford it, so i plan on doing it in pieces. My mother wants me to make sure she can drive the thing also, so I'm thinking Power brakes.

My current setup:
Front disc :2thumbs:
Rear drum  :brickwall:
Manual Master cylinder  :brickwall:
Auto Trans   :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:

I have had good luck shopping with summit and was wondering what you guys thought of this:

my plan is to start with that, and BTW, is there a REAR DISC conversion kit?

Ive read that manual brakes are fine and good, and i agree, but i am looking for more stopping power, with less effort. (it takes two feet to lock these ones up, and i don't think all of them lock) and my mom has a bad hip, so she wants power brakes.

The car only has 62k miles on it, but was abused by the last owner.

I'm confused, you can't afford a brake job, but you're considering a $900 conversion kit? Pads, rotors, wheel bearings, seals, and hoses for that car will cost a whole lot less than that. Why power brakes? They don't stop any quicker. The name is a misnomer, they're actually power-assisted brakes. I've got manual disks out of '77 Volare, which should be the same as stock in your '74, in my '71. They stop great.
