i was pressure washing off my two 904 transmissons and i noticed that the one from my parts car if different from the numbers matching one that came out of my numbers matching 74 chargers, both cars are 74s but the kickdown linkage and cover plates are different as well as the tail shaft housing.  Also noticed that the numbers on top of the bell housings are different as well.   when i seperated it from the engine today i also notice that the transmission from the parts car has a TQ converter still with stickers on it, one sticker says that its remanucfactured and the other says LS lockup converter???  heck even the dipstick tubes are different.  could one of these be a 998 and other a 904?  also found written in permeant marker on the outside of the bellhousing 10-2-97???

Look at the part number stamped in the drivers side pan rail and see if it's listed here:

thanks will do, did take it to a trans shop, and they guy told me that it appears to have been fully rebuilt with very very little wear if any on the clutches, he thinks it maybe a 998 as well, definetly a lockup style style trans for sure.  thanks
