I just bought a freshly rebuilt 440. I need to change a few things to get it ready to go in my Charger and figure out an intake and carb combo that I want to use. Between now and then I will start with the small things, work my way up, paint it and get all the small stuff needed when its ready to go in.

Fitz73Chrgr

Finish re-doing the underside of the car, get it back down on its wheels, and get it to the body shop.

On that subject, I'm still looking for suggestions for body shops in STL.

terrible one

Hmmm

Make money and finish the drivetrain/put it in, put the disc brake stuff on and complete the brake system, then once I'm out of money and it starts to get warmer, buy a shitload of Rustoleum and finish painting it!  :2thumbs:

I have acquired a box of parts and will hopefully get the time to finally put them in the car (thumbwheel radio, dash bezel, gauge faces, check moulding, antenna bezel) need to detail the engine and re-spray the grille.

My project has got a slow start.....on purpose!!
Picked it up in Chicago area in late June, and drove it over to a buddy of mine in Reading, PA. Was plannig to bring it home to Norway right away, and start hacking, but with all new bodyparts coming awailable , i decided to leave the car there for a while, and spend this winter SHOPPING!!  It is a driver as it is, so i wount start hacking befor next winter, but then all the parts for the main surgery will be in house. XV level II front /rear/brakes, WP Hemi, T 56 tranny.
So this winter is working and shopping :2thumbs:
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

700jfm

Will be picking it up from the sandblasters today. replacing quarters, trunk and adding frame rail connectors.

If i manage to strip mine further down and put her onto a rotisserie (wich in need to weld together first) withing the next 6 months i'm gonna be kinda happy.....

finishing will be somwhere around 2030  :icon_smile_big: who knows

I'm gonna upgrade the steering and electric system. Would like to upgrade the brakes and wheels also, but I may have to check my budget first  :'(

Shortblock swap....  if it gets done in time before the next season start.   That might be a shelved project for now the way the progress is so far.

Finish some electrical projects like headlights and voltmeter conversion.

Hmm... for the '68 I need to redo the interior. Dynamat EVERYTHING, new seats, restuff and recover the rear seat, new headliner, redo the dash, pull the rear end (need to find out where a pesky vibration is coming from) and then just clean it up a bit.

For the Daytona... I just need to finish it - hopefully by March.

I got mine at the end of August, it sits stripped and waiting for a little paint and minor dent repair.  The motor is being tore down to head out to the machine shop, couple pesky pistons don't want to come out.  Need a brake kit, and a ton of stuff; but the goal is to drive it on my birthday.  3/20, probably the year after next though...  :brickwall:

I'm getting the car back from the paint shop in a few weeks and I'll be putting it back together over the next couple of months.

Mostly cosmetic changes...change my white stripe to black...new set of wheels & tires.  Can't wait to get them on and show you the new look.   ;)  Plus the roads where I live are an abomination and the low profile 17s are killing me.  If the roads get much worse I'll need a chase car to pick up the pieces that fall off.  Also maybe some kind of hidden stereo system.  I can't handle any more AM talk radio.

I just winterized the '70 R/T in it's hermetically sealed cocoon.  :D
The '68 needs nothing at this point.

For the '69, the wheels & tires should be here in a few weeks, as well as some pieces that are currently at the chrome platers. Once they're on, the plans are to get the Classic Auto Air setup. That can get mocked up & then install their heater/AC box, then on to install the dash, windshield, back glass, & related trim. I hope to have that accomplished by spring, so I can move on with the engine plans. Slow, slow, slow...

This is my plan for the winter...

1. Get the Hemi bolted together.
2. Do some electrical upgrades and wiring.
3. Rebuild the rear brakes.
4. Drop the Hemi in between the front fenders.

+ a million other things that I'm shore will come up before my ride is ready to hit the street/strip....

PS. -Ooh, and during the season 2008 hit such a low 1/4mile time, that Ron the Firefighter has to send over a case of beer....

You got it Ron, I'll try to have it dialed in by then. The only problem will be if it runs faster then what the rollbar\cage requirement is.....that's my only worry. I'll get one shot and then get tossed off the track. My best guess is I'm somewhere in the low 12s to high 11s right now......I'm not going to cut the car so if I'm right...well...we will only get one shot at it.  :D

I was running mid 12s in the 71 and I KNOW this car would stomp all over that! I'm not sure what the break is for rollbar/cage, but I'm real close if not over the limit.....
