Hi Guys i am in dicussion with Hans from Luedtke Auto Group from IL, about build me a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T Clone Tripple Back with all new Stuff. I allready have buy two cars from him, but they were not so expensive. And the work he does was exeptible but not perfect.
This car must be in a verry good condition, without any rust at all. Price $ 32K

Does smeboddy have more experience with this dealer?

I hope someone could give me a possitive answer, that would help for my dessision.

Rocky

You don't want anything to do with those scammers.  Just to a search of the sight under HLPAG or Luedtke and you will see.  Better yet, here is a link to a good thread.

Dude, search up HLPAG in the search box. They have screwed over alot of people. For example, a member here bought a 69 R/T from them. It turned out to be completley different from their description. When he got it, he found out the trunk floor was screwed, the rear frame rails were screwed, the quarter panels were screwed and there was even a patch job on the front floor..the patch looked like concrete!!!

Dont deal with them :Twocents:

Ok, thank you guys. I think this is almost criminal what they do.

But i do not know, where i can buy now a 1968 dodge Charger RT Clone Tripple Black in a verry good condition.

69bronzeT5

Well you wont get a 'very good' conditioned Charger from them. Most of their General Lee's have alot of bondo in them so chances are, if they built you a car, it would have bondo :Twocents:

"I allready have buy two cars from him,"..wait, have you already bought cars from them? :shruggy:

Yes i did. the first was a 1970 dodge charger 440 plum crazy for about $14K
The second was a 1968 dodge Charger Rt 4-speed/ Yellow for $ 17K
And the third was a 1969 General Lee for $ 25K
And all of them had some rusty spots and some parts were missing too. but none had big problems with bondos or something like that.
The last one wasen't Level, but i had to change the front suspension.

I thout, it would be on the depense how mutch i spend for the car. If i am going to spend more money for it it proprebly should be in a better condition. Now i made a contract by myself, with every details in it. I told him, that i do not exept his usual contract with " This vehicle is sold AS-IS NO Warranty!!!
I did not exept this contract. He have signed my contract with all details description. But i did not wire the Money Yet. If this car would be in a bad condition, i have the chance to get a lawyer to chatch him.
I am suppost to wirde the money on Thuseday next week. I do not know what to do now.

69bronzeT5

Well I wouldnt deal with them. They are bad news but thats just my opinion :Twocents:

Hey Street master...help me out here. If you've already bought 3 cars from him why are you asking?  Your experience should be a lot better guide than a bunch of anonymous people on this board.  If you got a good deal one the first three then buy the 4th...if you got ripped off on three don't buy another one.

If you are sincere than I apologize if I sound rude but this sure sounds like a "baited" question.

:ahum:

Streetmaster

Yes you're right, the only thing is i wasn't realy happy with the first three cars, but i do not find any other dealer who could find or sell cars at this prices.

I am from switzerland, and i do not have many good contacts where i could ask for. The only choises i have is to look at Ebay or thru  Intenet/ Google.

unless you like a body totaly rusted, covered in gallons of bondo, frames that look like swiss cheese, rattle can black under the hood, fresh paint on a junk yard engine, then you probably shouldn't buy from them. If you do, enjoy your new "Father-Son " project. YEEEE Haaaaaaawww!!

I think one of the a-holes from there has too much time on their hands (like me but not me) and they always start a thread like this.  Of course, ten million people here on this site fall for it.   How many other dealers have posts on this site every 3-4 months with a subject heading like "what do you know about hplag"  or "am i gonna get screwed by this rinky dink, rattle can  resto shop in Lake Villa IL"?   Hmm....

Geez guys, calm down and just answer the question. Why is it so easy to blast every new person that joins the site? At least make an attempt to get some proof before throwing accusations.

Yeah, I know I have a lot more member information at my disposal but, come on, have a little faith.

Honestly Streetmaster, it's going to be difficult to find what you are looking for based on your specifications. It's my assumption that you are a broker and this is for a customer over there. Am I correct? Unfortunately, you may have to take what you can get from wherever you can get it but I'd really hate to see you get taken for a whole lot of money on this one. If you want a car built there are other places that will do a much better job.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

bull

Many people here have had at least some indirect dealings with HLPAG, a few have had direct dealings with them and none of those that I know of walked away happy. My only direct dealings with them was with a guy named Patrick (apparently HLPAG's one-time PR director ::)) who used to come here and tell us how stupid we all were because we refused to buy their junk. While he was here we took the opportunity to point out HLPAG's shabby workmanship, atrocious customer service, midnight fly-and-bye delivery drops and after-the-sale service that basically equates to an extension of Hans's middle finger.

In your case I'd thank my lucky stars you managed to get two semi-decent cars from them that both stayed in one piece long enough to roll 50-yards down the street under their own power.

I know tons of people and I'm sure alot of the old timers (sorry guys) know tons of people too.  My dad restored my car and I can guaranty you it is better quality work than what they are willing to do for that price.  I'll even put a show quality black paint job on my 68 and sell to you for $35K if you pay shipping and put a down payment down.  It's not a 383 clone, however, it's a real deal 68 RT with a stout 440 Mag.  Sorry, it's an automatic.  Where they going to do your's as a 4 sp?  My offer stands to anybody else on this board too, by the way.

I guess you've already checked his IP address and stuff of that nature.   Aren't you a bit suspect when people inquire about hlpag?  Haven't they done things like this before (the troll thing)?

Oh Yeah, If you've already done business with them why do you need to ask about their work and pricing?   All new stuff?  That isn't even possible unless he's using NOS for alot of parts.  If that's the case I'll take all the new parts for that price.
