Hello everyone,

Just thought I'd let you all know of my dad's book he got published recently.

It's called "My Border Patrol Diary" by Dale Squint

Obviously my father was a border patrolmen (retired). Figured some of you might be interested.

It's not a Novel type book, it's a bunch of short "stories" he got from a diary he kept while in the BP. One of his supervisors told him to keep a diary when he first entered the BP and now he's made a book out of it.

Warning: My father is not the best typist on the planet and apparantly the publisher made some screwups when "editing". There will be words like "departed" but for some reason they come out depa-rted. Don't know how they did that. Also, my father's vision isn't so great anymore so there's a few mispelled words in there that he didn't catch (and neither did the editor).

Pretty interesting stuff. I'm in the process of getting my background check for the BP but I know in today's PC world I won't be able to get away with half the stuff he did.  :D

Anyway, go pick up a copy if you're interested.

Departed or deported?

Anyway, that's pretty cool. One of my life goals is to publish a book.

I don't even think departed or deported are used in the book, it was just an example to show that for some reason some of the words have a hyphen in them splitting them up. Don't know why it did that.
