Mizzou will be #1

If Kansas does not get their act together the next half, it will be Mizzou (:2thumbs:).  I have a feeling downtown will be a bit busy tonight......

Why do you think Mizzou won't win a national championship?

Actually it does matter as MU has had a border war with that team for a very long time (2nd longest in football).  Remember, KU was undefeated going in and a favorite to win by almost everyone in the news, so the MU team proved them wrong.  This is the highest ranking that MU have had since 1960, so it is pretty important for the college (that also was for the Big 12 North championship trophy).  If Mizzou does beat OU (for the Big 12 championship, something we have not won in a long, long time) and then wins the national championship, I have a feeling alot of people all over the nation will be eating crow afterward for not giving MU a chance at all.  Even if they don't win against OU, MU still has had the best football season in at least the past forty years and still will be going to a good bowl game.......

Chad, I don't know if you watched the MU vs OU game, but Mizzou had it won.  I think if they play the next two games like they did last night they could be Champs.  Mizzou wrestling was ranked #1 in the nation last year and brought home the first NCAA trophy in MU wrestling history.  That AD should be feeling good! regaurdless of what happens in the big 12 championship Mizzou athletics have come a long long way.

I watched some of it, until they starting making big mistakes in the second half (by then, it was apparent that MU would lose).  I could not just watch them give the win away after doing so good in the previous quarters.  The MU coach had a reputation for choking at the end of the game for the past few seasons (for a couple of examples, last year and the 2004 season).  He has made vast improvements all around, so hopefully they will win against OU this time and not make the same mistakes......

Mizzou had the OU game won until it had some costly turnovers. OU is vulnerable away from home and like I said in the other thread, Mizzou will win by 14 in San Antonio.  :2thumbs:

Gary Pinkel has the knack of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory more than any other coach.

I think there is so much talent on this year's team that even he will have a hard time screwing it up. (but then again......)

BTW....Where's all the Rock Chalk Jayhawk fans......

i just got back from oklahoma... I didnt get a chance to watch the game as my in-law's do not have cable, or an antenna, live in the middle of nowhere... and well, pretty much do not like TV in general.

I did check it out today to see MU by 8.  Man, it must have been a pretty good game and one I am sad that I missed, but family is more important than a 127 y/o borderwar   :icon_smile_big:

congrats to you tiger fans for the win... and as all KU fans always say and have said in the many many past years... WE WILL GET YOU BASKETBALL! lol  (I hope, fingerscrossed)  :nana:
