That convertible in last pic is not a Coronet but looks more like a 67 or 68 Barracuda. Without seeing the Side Marker lights can't say which year to be exact. LEON.

Aren't those lambo's worth a fortune?

bzabodyn

I think so and he knows it too... he's definitely the kind of guy that needs to get rid of a few "projects" so someone else can actually do something with some of these rare cars....

BZ, Good luck with a very nice project and what will be an awesome car when finished. It is too bad that some people on here have to put a damper on it for you. Just stick to what you think is right.

Please spare me reading 8 pages worth of posts and bring me up to speed on who's putting a damper on this cars restoration.

A bunch of guys were pretty upset about the fact that I'm using a pretty solid, original 383-4sp car for the donor sheetmetal and other various parts (interior, etc - it's going to save me a ton of $$$ in the process) - but it is what it is and I hope to transplant the heart of that car (nothing #s matching) into a '69 super bee at some point...

I will be selling off the remaining sheet metal off that car after we've used what we needed...

Again - sorry to the guys out there that didn't like that plan of action... (btw, donations are still needed for the BZ HEMI restoration fund - all major credit cards accepted!)  :2thumbs:

I see you are apologizing - is this project a group effort where you get to make the final decision and everyone kicks in some funds or is it funded solely by you?

69_500

I'll admit that I was one of the ones who was opposed to the idea of cutting up a perfectly good 383 car to use as a donor for sheetmetal. Personally still opposed to the idea, considering the repro sheetmetal that is available, and other possibly options to reach the same end product. However that said, it isn't my car that is being restored, nor is it my car that is being cut up to fix the other one, and with that said the only person who has a legit point one way or the other is the owner of the 2 cars. That being said though still didn't change my opinion on what I would have done if it was my car.

hemi-hampton

There is alot of Sheetmetal not made by the aftermarket & alot that will never be made like inner structural parts, ect. For certain sheet metal problems you will need a donor. LEON. :eyes:

69_500

I agree that there are some parts that aren't being reproduced. I will give you that. However there are other ways to get those as well, than using an entire car to cut them from. Plenty of parts cars out there. Once again just my opinion. I'm not bashing him for using the car, just saying I would have done things differently. Have no problem saying I was one of the people earlier who voiced my opinion, and have no problem seeing the other side of it either. I can see where he is coming from and why he did it, just personally wouldn't have.

bzabodyn

...and like I've said Danny, I greatly appreciate everyone's comments one way or another... everyone has their opinion and I respect that... but in the end, I have to do what I believe is in my best interest to achieve my ultimate goal...

Thanks - and no hard feelings to anyone!

I am 16 and before i got my first gen I madly looked for a second gen. So in a way I am opposed to the chopping up of a rare car (any second gen really)
but at the same time I know about budget restraints. And this car is going towards a good cause.
And if there is anything of the charger left ill take it and make it  topless daytona clone with a 4 speed :)

Fitz73Chrgr

Haven't we already had this debate?  The car is already chopped up I'm sure, I'm just looking forward to seeing the progress on the Hemi car!

The car is FINALLY going on the rotisserie next week, so check back on the website for updated pics... we've decided we are going to do the major panel replacement first, then acid dip, then body finish work... ETA 2 months on that...

The big delay has been because American Classics has now teamed up with Distinct Automotive to help them with the restorations they have going on - I was there this afternoon, and they are doing minor repairs on about 15 cars and total restorations on about 6-7 more... mine is finally in line to get on the rotisserie, so things should finally start progressing... I guess we'll see in a few weeks!

Have a good weekend...
