Take a deep breath Cody.

Yeah, all on the same page he says he wants to buy some sheet metal for his own project, then a few chime in and say it's uncool to chop up a Charger, then he agrees and then a few posts later he asks for some sheet metal again.

I don't think that Galen makes his own tags, I'm pretty sure he farms the tags he has made out through datatags. I could be wrong on that one, but I think that is what he does.

Ghoste

That is what I have always been told as well.

This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Wife took memory card out of camera yesterday to get some pictures developed and I finally got it back from her...

Basically, Galen was very excited to inspect the car and just kept calling it "a diamond in the rough" - he is really excited about our project and said several times that he wanted to be kept involved in the process... he was a very cordial person overall and I was very happy with his work - I actually didn't even hang around the entire time he was there because he took pictures/inspected things for over 3 hours without a break!  He had to have taken over 200 pictures of various parts of the car... Can't wait to get his report back with everything broken down so we can actually begin tearing into the project in the next couple of weeks...

Also got to see the donor car for the first time in person and I actually think we got a heck of a deal on it considering how complete (though in hundreds of pieces) the car is - most of the body work will be redone, but it is a solid car overall (funny thing was that it was originally a TX car even though it was bought from MN) - Galen is also preparing a letter with his recommendation on how to proceed with the restoration using the donor car body panels just to cover our basis...

Can't wait to report back with Galen's findings, because by early indications, I think I have a pretty rare car on my hands - at least one of 207 made, maybe less than one of ten made  :o

You're cutting up that car! :o :'(

Yeah - I was kinda bummed when I saw it in person... really nice car - but it's being sacrificed to accomplish a greater goal!

Happy New Year to all... I'm out of pocket for a while  ;D

I see absolutely no reason at all to cut up that 383 car. NONE WHAT SO EVER. The pieces that I can see that need to be replaced on the HEMI car are readily available by many different sources other than cutting up another car. Just my  :Twocents:

What numbers are you using to come up with 1 out of 207 or the 1 of possibly 10? Color combinations or what? I'm assuming its the color combination coupled with the engine and transmission.

:iagree:, but then again, its your choice.  Can't wait to see the finished product.  Hopefully someone will be able to save the 383 car afterwards with aftermarket sheet metal.

I've already said what I needed to say about the donor car.....so the hell with it at this point. You're doing a great job and progressing very far in a short time! Please keep us updated. Also, don't let peoples comments get you down. Its your car, and your money...., and I'm planning to have my survivor Coronet repainted because ITS NOT PERFECT ENOUGH FOR ME.

Shakey

With regards to the folks saying not to cut up the donor car - I'd bet if it were you're HemiCharger ready to be restored, you'd be doin' the same thing!

Go ahead and cut it up, there are plenty of them out there.

C_stripes

Lets see.  If I had a rusty HEMI 4spd charger R/T and a near rust free 383 charger.   I would cut it up too.   No matter what. Its orig sheet metal vrs repro sheet metal.    Whats going to be worth more in the end??
I'm smarter than I act, But I don't act smarter than I am.
