The cars looking great.  While looking at the yellow cuda, it's so beautiful it's hard to image it was a automobile for driving purpose as it looks like a work of art that should be spinning around on a turn table with glittering lights on it.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Jeff just sent a pic of the roof now spot welded on as well...

Pretty decent shape (nowhere near the show-quality level of the 2 'cuda verts) - has a 472 Hemi in it, Auto... nice cruiser, was in the shop working out fuel and electrical problems...

Yes sir! We had to use a little metal here/there (mainly pieces from hood) - but the car will be reassembled using left over parts and sold when we are done with everything with the 383 stroker and spare A833 4sp tranny...

Some more pics:

Do you plan to do a restoration thread on the other Charger also?  I never get tired of seeing restoration pictures  :icon_smile_big:

bzabodyn

Probably not - since we're really just going to be some reassembly more than anything else... not going to know what we're going to have left for that car until this one's done first though!

More pics!!! Basically a "motion sequence" of the lead work required to make the quarter-to-roof transition perfect...

They will start epoxy the end of this week and then a good month of priming/blocking/etc to follow... it'll be in paint before we know it!

Sooooooo, any idea when it will be done?  2009 2010? Looking good.

Cool!! I always wondered how they blended the roof and quarter without using bondo.

This has been a very interesting build thread. I can't wait to see this car finished. It is going to look great. I am thinking of giving Jeffs Resurrections a call, after seeing his work on this thread I did some research on his shop. He has a long history of high quality work.

I'm guessing Jan/Feb of next year... with all the holidays and everything else coming up (and the fact that we're not trying to make any kind of deadline or anything like that), I just don't think it's going to be done by the end of the year...

He has a lot of big money collectors on his regular client list - they really only do #1 quality work, so be prepared to spend big bucks... this is definitely going to be a six-figure+ resto (and then after all of this, I'm going to drive the wheels off of it)  :drive:

Thanks for the heads up! I figure if he does quality work it may be worth hauling my project out there just to get a ball park price. If it is too much it only cost me an afternoons drive. Good luck getting the resto done; I can't wait to see more progress!!

Time goes by fast. You'll be burning tires by spring 2010.  Are you going 110% anal original correct?  Will it have steel wheels or magnum road wheels? Bias or radials?

Hey Brandon..
Man,, she's looking great..... I do somewhat regret not getting our two Hemi Chargers next to each other for a picture. But, alas,, this time I have a car with a wing that's supposed to be there......  :icon_smile_big:
Troy
'69 Charger Daytona 440 auto 4.10 Dana ( now 426 HEMI )
'70 Superbird 426 Hemi auto: Lindsley Bonneville Salt Flat world record holder (220.2mph)
Houston Mopar Club Connection

bzabodyn

That's a good one Troy!  Yep, but these two (colorwise) would look just as good next to each other!  Congrats again on joining the wing club (one day  :drool5:)

More pics - car is now in epoxy!!!

Yep - it's going to be crazy correct, esp since we've found so many little things (ie extremely rare) that were still correct 40yrs later...

I'm going to have the original steel H-code wheels/hubcaps/bias ply tires for shows, etc and I'm going to do a spare set of repro steel wheels with dog dishes in 15x7/15x8 with staggered Diamondback radials for the street...
