I saw the promo for that flick & thought it seemed pretty good. I'd go see it, but I'm not taking my 8 year old, & my wife falls asleep during movies, so I guess I'll wait for it to come out on DVD & rent it or watch on HBO.

Saw it over the weekend. Really good movie about how crime does NOT pay in the long run. Like Scarface or New Jack City, but without the tackiness.

But I don't think the message will ever get through to the average person who goes to see it. The movie will just end up glorifying crime.  :Twocents:

i disagree,..  it was quite clearly an object lesson, great cast, speil burg  having sean penn counter morgan freeman was a stroke of jeanious...

SeattleCharger

Vainglory, Esq.

It wasn't Spielberg, it was Ridley Scott.

I saw it, and it kept me entertained for the whole 2.5 hours.  Good stuff.

topic stray, but did anyone see "Inside Man"?   that had denzel and that clive owen guy,  great movie,   clive owen was also a cool guy in "Arthur", which is an interesting take on the Excaliber/King Arthur story, Owen played Arthur, had a real cool bad guy leader in there also, recommend both those movies,  rent em if you haven't seen em, specially Arthur     Arthur also had a role in there played by the tall buzz cut guy from the HBO series "Rome"

I disagree. I think the average person WILL get it...but the below average individuals who might have a propensity for that type of behavior might see it as glorifying crime.

Unlike Scarface and Nino Brown, AG does make Frank Lucas very sympathetic, for the most part.

BTW,  really good joke if the person doesn't know its a joke,  and you have to tell them it was a joke,

sean penn and morgan freeman           sean penn was denzel?
