"Starting Tuesday, large grocery stores can no longer use the traditional plastic bags that are a staple of the supermarket checkout line, as a city ordinance passed earlier this year to ban the bags takes effect"

"Six months from now, pharmacy chains will also have to comply. The policy will be the first enacted in the United States - Oakland passed a similar ban that goes into effect early next year and London and Paris both have followed San Francisco's lead - and Macy said city enforcement will start Dec. 1.

Stores that don't comply face fines starting at $100 for a first violation. Penalties increase to $200 for a second violation in the same year and to $500 thereafter.

Stores can still use plastic bags so long as they are a special type that are compostable. Bags must now be made of at least 40 percent high-grade recycled paper, and many stores are using bags made from 100 percent recycled paper, Macy said."

Expect this plastic bag ban to spread rapidly across the nation.  I've been saving various kinds and sizes of them for a while now in anticipation of the Ban.
So, Start your whording today!

Meet the wacky woman who has collected more than 23,000 plastic bags

Collecting queen Carol Vaughan really is a bag lady - after amassing more than 23,000 plastic bags. While most people search for ways of getting rid of the items, Carol can't get enough of them. The 63-year-old started building up her collection 20 years ago. And the crazy collector from Birmingham, West Midlands, has now seen her treasure trove peak at the 23,000 mark.

I hate those stupid plastic bags anyway. Everytime I forget to tell the grocery store not to use those,  I always end up having groceries all over the back bed of my truck.

I'm glad to see them ban those stupid things.

Walmart must have already went to them. I was there tonight shopping and as I was loading the cart in the checkout a bag ripped wide open and 2 jars of pickles hit the dirt and cracked all over. Stunk the place up like pickles!HAHA!

tim foil ?

Tim Foil was an action figure made by Hasbro's competitor, Reynoldsco to compete with G.I. Joe. They didn't sell very well, but once in awhile they pop up on ebay.
