White Hat Special in '68?

Anyone have a picture of a '68 charger with a white vinyl top? Was the white vinyl just a seperate option or was it part of the the white hat special? Did that start in 69?

yeah, they are down-turned at the tips. not my style  :puke:, only had the car about 2 months. new tips are on the list of things to do

Here's a picture of mine. White vinyl roof, full wheel covers (not pictured but have them), remote driver's rear view mirror, wood grained steering wheel, interior light package, hood mounted turn signal indicators, bucket seats with console.

Cars owned:
1968 Dodge Charger, 48k orig. miles, family owned since new.
Not a Hemi, a mini-hemi 340.

The term White Hat Special simply meant that the vehicle had a vinyl roof, not the color. My 67 is a White Hat Special, but the vinyl is Black. The White Hat Special was introduced as a package in 1967 and consisted of the following choices:
Vinyl roof covering (white or black).
Power steering.
Console (or center seat).
Wheel covers (deep dish).
White sidewall tires - 7.35 x 14 (7.75 x 14 with 383 cubic inch 4-barrel V-8, or air conditioning).
Plus your choice of 19 body colors and 6 interioir trim colors.
