Just broke in the 318 today on a 74 Plymouth Satellite I bought last year Carlisle.
Just want to say thanks to all for help. Especially mister Firefighter!

Break in was amazingly pain free. Just one water leak at lower radiator hose, and small leak in the fuel line. Both easy fixes.

Here is what the car looked like last year.

Here is my 1973 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus.  I hope it looks as nice as yours someday!  Some parts for these are impossible to find!

Yep, like the rear bumper to body seal.  I've been looking for one on and off for 3 years now.

I just wrote today to B/E & A auto restoration to ask him about reproducing that very part.  Mine is warped so that it is unusable.  I also asked him about reproducing the front grilles.  These are ridiculously rare for such a popular car and mine has cracks.  Next I will ask him about reproducing the front signal lights.  I may end up taking the warped filler to a rubber-working company to see if they can make one.  Where did you find your Satellite? I bought mine from a man who had stored it in a rental storage unit for 21 years before stashing it in a junkyard.  The dash is not even cracked!

Nice! Looks promising...
:scratchchin: O.K. so what about having an experianced tin man make up that bumper seal?..  :shruggy:

Highway by the Sea

What do you mean by "tin man"?  Is this really someone who can do the work on the filler, or just a MOPAR slang term?  Did you look at the other picture of the Satellite? (not the one with the rust spots)  That is how bad, rusty, and dirty it looked the day I rescued it from the junkyard!  The previous one is how it looks now!  Here is another junkyard days one:

Brock Samson

I've seen a tin man who makes roofing parts like  gutters and such work magic forming specialised one off pieces for duct work and building projects, so if there are not too many compound curves perhaps an experianced crafts man could recreate one out of galvanised tin...
Just thinking out loud.. not perfect but just maybe it'll work...  :shruggy:

Highway by the Sea

That sounds like a pretty neat idea!  One would probably have to find an alternate means of attaching one made of that type of material like screws or bolts.

Are you going to clone the Satellite or keep as is?

Thanks!  I will most certainly be keeping it as it is.  I even bought NOS scripts for when it is painted.  I intend to replace the 400 big block in it with a 440 someday.  You would not believe how much work has been done to this car, as it is very much loved!  Even my wife loves it!  I even have installed a working factory Chrysler am/fm stereo radio with original Chrysler dash and NOS rear speakers! Here is the motor:

AmadeusCharger500

Both quarters needed work. 18 in inches from the bottom is all new metal. Plus the bottom of the door was rotted out. 3 inch by half the length of the door is new metal.

AmadeusCharger500

Right side needed some new metal also.

This was about 5 months ago.
It looks a lot more finished now just need to snap some more photos.
And yes I put a road runner hood on. But it is still the original 318, after 3k rebuild.

AmadeusCharger500

Don't have any pics of the SE yet.
Its kinda dreary out but maybe I could go snap a few.
