Brake Pedal Tension Springs?

THE COLONEL

Well I got my Brake Boosters rebuilt, and reinstalled in The Colonel.  Here is my question.  I have two tension springs, and can't figure out where they go.  I do know of the one (longer one) that hooks onto the main middle neck of the pedal, but what and where does that hook on to?  Is there a standard spot for it?  The next spring (shorter spring) is hooked under the dash, but what does that one hook to on the pedal assembly?

When I was taking the assembly out I bumped the springs, and now can't figure out what and where they hook on to.  Thanks in advanced!

Anyone have any pics they can shoot?

I'd LOVE a picture of your assembly and (assuming you have power brakes) how far your brake pedal is from the floor (see my other post for my brake issues)

I *believe* that the spring that attaches to the center rod, there is a square slot at the top of the pedal assembly that it attaches to. Just put one end through the top, the other end on the rod.

I don't have a second spring so I'm not sure where it goes but I'd love to find out!

Good luck!

Also - any chance you could tell me how long the rod is that comes out of the back of the booster?

I'll get a picture of teh assembly today sometime.  As far as the rod in the back of the booster, it's about 3 -3.5 inches long.

Mine only had one spring.  Here are some pics of disassembly.

One more.  They are a little small, but I think you can see where the spring goes.

Sorry forgot pic.

Well, I missed that spring.  I guess I have three.  I got that one back on.  Now I have one that is attached to a metal plate under the dash, but I don't know where it goes, and then another one that originates from the middle neck of the brake pedal, and I don't know where the other end of that one goes? :slap:

Don't know if it makes any difference, but mine is a power drum brake car.
