I most want a 426-based all-aluminum Hemi that's 150% streetable.

500+ inches would be nice.

sick dawg

I got the 472 for my charger. They didn't have a 426 in stock and gave me the 472 for the same price with no wait for it.
Me like Me new motor!!!

I voted 540 Aluminum, since that is the closest to what i build. 588 World Product aluminum /Callies forged crank/ Oliver con rods/Cp pistons/ Injection.
Raw power, and light. Nice for Pro Touring :2thumbs:
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

I voted 6.1L hemi - simply because it looks like I will be putting one into my Charger sometime...     it wont be 6.1L when it goes in though    :D

There's no place to vote none of the above.

1968 Dodge Charger, 48k orig. miles, family owned since new.
Not a Hemi, a mini-hemi 340.

i would like a 60's, but... 5.7L and 6.1L's are more economical nowadays, so that is where I would go.

Are you going with the 426 stroker kit? I know a guy in the LX club who did that to his SRT-8. That thing is insane. He's running mid to high 11's (in a 4000+ car).

But anyway...I'd pick a 426 "classic" hemi for the cool/intimidation factor. A 6.1L for practical use.

looks like I'll be going with a stroker kit to bump it to the good old 426ci....            Ponch - any of your LX guys have any take out engines laying around?

This guy I just mentioned has a 6.1 shortblock. He just posted this a couple of days ago:

"I got one. I want $1,600 for the whole short block. It has crank and pistons and cam and lifters and oil pump and rear seal. It has like 24k miles on it.

He's in Arizona. You can probably contact him through LX forums.

I like the 472.  It looks just like the 426 but has that little extra for just in case.  The Silver Bullet was a 472 stroker right from the day Jimmy Addison took it off of Plymouth's hands wasn't it?
