Just wanted to share with everyone that I received a pair of full quarter panels for my 70 Charger and a pair of door skins. Both are from Classic Body Designs

http://www.classicbodydesigns.com/

The quarters and the door skins have been inspected, measured and compared to my originals by the restoration shop doing my bodywork and they give them two thumbs up.

Said the quality was great.

Here are some pictures of the full quarter panels (the skins showed up after I left the shop)

I'm pretty excited and very pleased. My camera battery died after only a few shots so next time I'm out at the shop I'll take a bunch more pictures of the quarters and also of the door skins and post them for all to see.

So there you go folks.....second gen full quarters and door skins are available now. For real.

As far as I know these are going to be the only source for 1970 Charger quarters. as AMD is supposedly just going to do 68 + 69's

Maybe some who knows more will chime in and  correct me

A Small price to pay when you're restoring a high $$$$, low production # car, but that's a hard pill to swallow when your trying to bring a "driver" back to life.

I'm glad someone is making them, but they're way out of my price range.  :'( :shruggy:

Does it really matter how much they cost? Answer: No. They're worth it.

To provide a perspective on price, I paid $2.500 for a used  driver's quarter for my 70 GTX. Paid less for the other side though. This was after the repro quarters I originally put on it went rusty after three years. I aint rich and I could'nt afford it, but it needed to be done. The investment in tooling for little return is enormous with these parts and the quarters on a car are basically most of it to my mind. The QUALITY of the steel is very important as I learned to my cost. By the way I also had to paint the car again on top of replacing the quarters twice.

Dodge Don

The shop put on the first door skin yesterday. Perfect fit. The shop owner was thrilled that I was able to get skins and full quarters since it'll save alot of time (and $$$) installing them versus trying to massage used or aftermarket quarter patch panels. One thing he noted was he was worried about the lines he would see since Chargers have very crisp lines but he was very pleased with the lines on the panels and skins....true and sharp. Doesn't have to try to build up the lines.

Those looks great Don! So, does this mean more progress pics from you in the near future?

Yes indeed. I'm really gunning to have her ready for next summers shows.

In 2003 I paid $1800 for a passenger side NOS OEM quarter panel for my 1970 and $4600.00 for a drivers side NOS OEM quarter panel. It would have been so nice and convenient to have been able to buy brand new full quarters from these guys back then.
